You know, I saw Rogi already two times, saw Clement two times, saw some other players, but I never saw Guille yet. maratgirl 07-09-2003, 08:34 AM No I didn't saw him in real but I think that he must look better in real than on a pic right?? Nymeria 07-09-2003, 08:36 AM No I didn't saw him in real but I think that he must look better in real than on a pic right?? yeah, it was the same with Rogi ;) Mmm, if Guille once plays in Holland, I'll visit that tourny, do you come then too? maratgirl 07-09-2003, 08:49 AM definatly!!! and when marat is there too I'll sleep for the tournies door :p Nymeria 07-09-2003, 09:04 AM But then I want Roger to be there too! :) :p lizabeth..* 07-09-2003, 09:10 AM wait till you see him in real life then you can say he looks better in real than on a pic ;) id have to agree there ;) such a munchkin he is :D maratgirl 07-09-2003, 03:53 PM id have to agree there ;) such a munchkin he is :D is a munchkin someone who is very small?? Nymeria 07-09-2003, 05:35 PM Wow, you're really lucky that you can visit tourny's that often! I really don't have money to visit that much tourny's. I only visit tourny's in holland, and Guille is never there  Nymeria 07-10-2003, 06:58 AM Now I understand it, you know, I still go to college, that's why I don't have the money... It's a dream of me to visit Roland Garros once, and I'm sure I'll see Guillermo there! I don't think you're crazy, I prefer the same. Tennis is much more interesting as lying on the beach. Can I ask how old al you people are? I'm 18. Nymeria 07-10-2003, 08:33 AM Next week Coria will finaly play a tourny again. He'll play in Stuttgart. There are some tough oponents, like Moya and costa. But I'm sure Guille will be able to defeat them! Shadow 07-10-2003, 11:16 AM Hi all, - well reading your posts about seeing people "live" - I know I'm biased (!), but I've seen Guille loads of times in Roland Garros, Monte Carlo, Wimbledon and quite a few other places (guess I'm just lucky and can go to lots of tournaments :) , and he is just so cute in real life! He's also really sweet, because he's always got time to talk to people and be nice to his fans (not all players are like that I'm afraid :( . Guess that's why he's my favourite - can't wait to see him again! Love to all, from Rosie Hey Rosie, this is so great :) I always thought Guille is such a nice and wonderful guy! :hearts: Did you also see other players (for example Marat? ;) )? Shadow 07-10-2003, 11:17 AM Oh finally Guille will play again :D Go for Stuttgart, Guillermo!!! lizabeth..* 07-10-2003, 11:52 AM is a munchkin someone who is very small?? ehehe yes it is..... but over here in aussie we use it to describe someone who is really cute and sweet. which is exactly what gullie is. *shares her story* i didnt really pay much atention to him because he was practising with mario ancic and i was a bigger mario fan at the time. but there was this group of argentinian guys who hung around the whole time to talk to gullie, and it was just me my friend and this group of guys watching them train so it was very...intimate? you might say...lol anyway - after gullie had finished training he went over and had a HUGE chat to the guys and took seriously like 100 photos and stayed around for a while with them and just talked and signed for them and everything then he finally had to go. i swear to god it made those guys day. To bad i was so infatuated with mario....i would have gone and got a photo with gullie too :( Next year :D lol I met Marat too Mrs Love Fire :p  Shadow 07-10-2003, 11:56 AM I met Marat too Mrs Love Fire :p  I know, Liz  I met him, too ;) :) lizabeth..* 07-10-2003, 11:58 AM He is just the cutest things isnt he?! where abouts did you meet him?! Id have to say...he is just as nice as Gullie....always doing things for his fans :hearts: lol Nymeria 07-10-2003, 12:03 PM If I read this I'm realy jealous.... I want to meet Guille too!!!! Maybe I've to send him an e-mail and ask if he please want to play in Holland :p Shadow 07-10-2003, 12:09 PM He is just the cutest things isnt he?! where abouts did you meet him?! Id have to say...he is just as nice as Gullie....always doing things for his fans :hearts: lol It was in WTC Dusseldorf 2001! It was awesome :hearts: I agree, Marat is so nice and sweet to his fans and always taking time, thanking them for their support, agreeing on giving a kiss (lol;) ) etc. :hearts: I never met Guille but yeah he is also a very sweet and nice guy, as everyone says who meets him. maratgirl 07-10-2003, 03:23 PM lucky you *jealous* Nymeria 07-11-2003, 08:57 AM We've three tourny's in Holland. I can understand he will not come to Rotterdam, because usually only players of europe are there. I can also understand he will not come to the Dutch open, because it's not a very big tourny (but it is on clay). But it would be great if he could come to Rosmalen once... But now I'm hoping Holland will play Argentina with the Davis Cup. In Holland offcourse, because it's too expensive to go to Argentina I think. But on the other hand, it would be easy if a idol would travel to the country of the fan, but you're a bigger fan if you travel to the country where your idol is playing :p I think I'll collect money and go to the French open in a few years. Nymeria 07-14-2003, 10:31 AM Good luck this week Guille :) maratgirl 07-15-2003, 04:42 PM isn't there a draw or something on that site of stuttgart?? and can't believe that tommy Haas is playing again :hearts: maratgirl 07-15-2003, 04:44 PM is it just me here ?? is everybody on holidays  Nymeria 07-15-2003, 08:20 PM Hey Femke :) No, I'm not on holidays, but I had to visit an aunt today. The first thing I did when I was back at home was checking if Guille did win :p Rosie, You will see Guille? Oh, you're really lucky! I wished I could go there too... maratgirl 07-16-2003, 01:21 PM yeah he beated mathieu with 7-5 6-3 WHAT THE PLAYERS SAID: Coria: "I've been playing Mathieu since we were young and in the juniors, so we know each other well. It was a really tough match and I'm glad to have pulled it out." "It's not usual to have this kind of heat in Germany, but it's OK, I am used to it." About the tournament fans "The fans were good out there, and I'm glad there were people cheering for me, as well as Mathieu. It made for a good atmosphere out there on Centre." About the next round "No matter who I play next, Ferrer or Ljubicic, it will be a tough match. I lost to Ljubicic earlier this year in Rome on clay, so I'll be looking to get him back." Nadal: "It was a tough first set, but I pulled it out at the end and from there I played more confidently and just rolled." About playing in Germany “I played a Challenger in Hamburg in February and reached the final and then I had a great Masters Series tournament in Hamburg, so for the moment, Germany is very good for me. I like playing here.” About his biggest win this year “Definitely the tournament in Monte Carlo was my biggest success until now. I reached the quarterfinals and had a win over Costa. That was important for me.” About increased pressure, expectations after Wimbledon “Maybe back in Spain there is some expectations, but I don’t feel any pressure really. It doesn’t affect me.” Biggest influence on his career “Definitely my uncle has been the biggest influence. He started me with tennis and has been my coach since then. I also have a great relationship with the other Spanish players. Corretja is probably the guy I’m closest to. He’s been great to me. Carlos Moya has also helped me a lot. He would come and play with me whenever he was in Mallorca.” Nymeria 07-17-2003, 03:52 PM He did win easily today :bounce: You will be able see him Rosie :) Laury 07-18-2003, 07:14 AM Good luck Guille! He will end the year in the top ten  Nymeria 07-18-2003, 11:15 AM Offcourse he will :) Guille has not a lot of points to defend, he can stay in the top 10. But it will be very close, if some other players would do very good he can also end out of the top 20 :( Nymeria 07-18-2003, 03:36 PM Guille did win :) And how  6-0,6-0  Well done el mago :D kiro 07-18-2003, 04:09 PM Guille did win :) And how  6-0,6-0  Well done el mago :D Yes that's great, and it's over Youzhny the defending champion! El Mago is cruising! :D BTW he's wearing brand new shirts! :) I haven't seen any other player wear the same style yet. Does Guille have his own style from Adidas? Or, with Safin still injured, Guille becomes the top player of Adidas? ;) Nymeria 07-18-2003, 04:12 PM I did not see his match, or pics yet. Tommy was rushing a little bit; he didn't find a way to win the points. "The first match of the tournament [against Mathieu] was the most difficult of the week. I hadn't played on clay since Roland Garros. You need one match to get confidence, that's why the first match is always the toughest. "I'm happy to have won a car. Maybe I will take Alberto for a ride." "I'm very happy to have won the two most important tournaments in Germany. I felt that I played more consistent this week than in Hamburg. Nymeria 07-22-2003, 08:19 AM I'll not go to DC, it's too expensive to me, because I've to travel too far. I hope Argentina will play against Germany, Belgium or Holland next year, then it's easier to visit for me. maratgirl 07-22-2003, 11:26 AM *fingers crossed* Central 07-22-2003, 05:03 PM LOL I don't know where is it going to be played :o but I think it's in Barcelona, ins't it? :( Central 07-22-2003, 08:33 PM Marbella?? It kills me. Nymeria 07-23-2003, 07:54 AM Good luck today Guille! Rosie you're very lucky to see Guille again! Mar, if I would live in Spain I would have bought tickets, but you're still lucky because it's on tv there I think, and it's not on tv here. Esther, you live in Australia? Then I'm also jealous, because you have Switserland there, and I'm a big Federer fan! Central 07-23-2003, 05:08 PM The only thing wrong with Marbella is that it's quite far away from where I live; Barcelona is also far, but at least I know some people there... Yep, of course it will be on TV, no doubt about it :D Nymeria 07-23-2003, 05:47 PM Guille is playing at the moment, and leading 4-3 :) maratgirl 07-23-2003, 05:48 PM woow c'mon guillermo!! Legolas- Hehe yeah i do...the semi is in Melbourne as well...but i'm not going to go because I don't like either of the teams...:S The only thing i want out of that semi is that Australia wins so that i can actually see the final on TV or maybe go if the final is to be in Melbourne but i dont think that will happen because of obvious reasons but yeah. If it turns out to be an Argentina- Switz final who would you go for? Well done Guille!! good luck against Mutis!!!! Nymeria 07-24-2003, 10:35 AM If it turns out to be an Argentina - Switz final, I'll cheer for Switserland. I did even cheer for Switz when they played holland this year. esther 07-24-2003, 11:50 AM oh ok. i guess we will be going for different teams then ;) Nymeria 07-24-2003, 04:08 PM I'm a bigger Federer fan as I'm a Guillermo fan (I think that's also because I saw Federer twice playing, and Guillermo never.) But I'll not be sad when Switserland will lose, because then Guille will win :) Central 07-24-2003, 04:31 PM Where would it be played a Switzerland-Argentina final? Anyone knows it? Nymeria 07-24-2003, 05:16 PM I read somewhere where it would be, but I already forgot. I didn’t expect it to be so fast but it’s better for me to finish fast, I’m sure the final will be tough. I will use my physical strength in the final.” “I’m happy with my performance. I was focused and I served well. I worked hard for this and I hope I can continue in the same way.” “When you have a lot of confidence it’s always easier. I'm having a great run and I'm happy to have won here in Kitzbuhel." "I was surprised that the match went so fast, Massu has played well all week. It was a tougher match than the results shows. The match was decided on a few points only. Massu made too many mistakes today, maybe he was rushing a little bit." "I want to dedicate this victory to the people of Santa Fe suffering from the flooding a couple of months ago. I come from the same area and we have to fight together." "I would like to become number one in the world. My main aims for this year are to reach the Tennis Masters Cup and to try and win the Davis Cup." esther 07-28-2003, 01:55 AM 10 consequetive wins :D :D Congratulatiionnnssssss :hearts: :P http://eur.news1.yimg.com/eur.yimg.com/xp/ap_photo/20030727/all/l872882.jpg Nymeria 07-28-2003, 11:02 AM hat picture is a bit weird, but still lovely :hearts: Nymeria 07-28-2003, 03:03 PM Guille is playing in Sopot this week. Good luck Guille!! esther 08-03-2003, 09:55 AM Coria: "I am very happy to have finished the match so quickly. I didn't think we were going to have a chance to play with the heavy rain delays. It feels great to be in another final. I try to improve with every match. I hope I can win the most important match, the final tomorrow. That will make it three titles in a row." "It was difficult for Horna. He claimed a great victory against Ferrero yesterday and it can be emotionally and mentally difficult to produce the same level of tennis in your next match. Every match is different. He was probably very tired as well." "When people say that I am the best player on clay right now and compare me to Ferrero and other great players on this surface, it really motivates me and encourages me to play even better." "Tomorrow's final against Ferrer will be difficult. He is a very good clay court player and has great movement on the court. You really have to use the angles of the court as he's very quick to get to the ball." About Roland Garros: "I was playing extremely well at Roland Garros this year, but I couldn't win the tournament. A good, solid showing for Coria here, in his first hardcourt tournament this summer (not counting the injury retirement). A good sign for the coming USO :) Chloe le Bopper 08-16-2003, 03:39 AM I think I'll be going to the USO for the first couple days or so, and I will definately see Coria on court 500 or wherever they throw him. What do you guys think? Wouldn't it be great to change the name of the Forum? You know, only the name Guillermo Coria is a bit boring, if you see see the name of other player forums (Federer Express, the Scud, Luscious Lleyton Lounge. esther 08-24-2003, 05:43 AM mm yeah...that should definately be done. put something with magician i say star 08-27-2003, 03:06 AM Coria's name could never be boring!! :) Why not his nickname? El Mago! It would be so wonderful if he could win the USO. :) And Esther...... no need to hold back on not liking Roddick. This isn't his forum, and besides... I'm used to it. ;) esther 08-27-2003, 03:44 AM yeah...guillermo coria is just such a nice name anyway tho i agree but el mago is i guess is a more...inventive/personal name to the forum?! *shrugs* Will play Ulihrach in second round and then maybe arnaud esther 08-27-2003, 03:47 AM oh and about roddick...i wouldnt actually purposely go and insult him for no reason...really dont pay any attention to him unless he plays someone i like and if he beats them...THEN i get mad..!! star 08-27-2003, 01:39 PM Esther :wavey: El Mago is his nickname from his junior years I think. lol about Roddick, Esther. :) esther 08-28-2003, 12:53 AM hehe :wavey: looks like its just us around here, star!! where's everyone else gone?!!! anyway coria plays ulihrach on Thursday so good luck to him!!! :) star 08-28-2003, 01:00 AM The reason Gui has to get to the quarters is that is the only way we will get to see him. esther 08-28-2003, 01:04 AM yeah...and plus the fact we want him to do well of course...lol ;) esther 08-28-2003, 10:47 AM hehe good to hear from u rosie :) Chloe le Bopper 08-28-2003, 09:57 PM Man.. Coria is spitting his opponents back out about as fast as they are being given to him. This pleases me! It will be VERY interesting to see if he can do this against Clement in the next round - IF Clement manages to hold on for the win... he was struggling after being 2-0 sets up, at last check. If he gets through that, maybe we'll get a rematch with Andre ;) Chloe le Bopper 08-28-2003, 09:59 PM btw... I was at the USO for the first three days and I tried to watch Coria's first round match. However, since he's a big "nobody" who has never been heard of anywhere, there is no way that he would make the Grandstand, 5th seed or no 5th seed. So they put him on court 11.... which is one of the biggest outer courts. So i figured I'd be alright to see his match if I showed up 5 minutes before it st arted. WRONG. Not a damn seat in the house! There was a line up to get on! And standing room was 4 deep! I was not pleased, not pleased at all! He should have been on the grandstand  esther 08-29-2003, 03:23 AM congrats again Guillermo :D *siiiiiiigh* no his match against Arnaud was not to be :( Arnaud was leading 2 sets to love and then lost in five  nneway...Coria will play Carraz which shouldn't be too much of a struggle... yeah i know i thought it was absoluately ridiculous that he got placed on court 11!!!!!! ohh thats a shame that u didnt get to see him :( you're so lucky you went for the first 3 days!!! Chloe le Bopper 08-29-2003, 04:27 AM It was supposed to be just two days, but then they put Nadal on Wednesday.. and that was a big part of the reason for me going down there, so I had to pay for one more day. Not that I'm complaining! esther 08-29-2003, 12:44 PM oh rosie you're so lucky you actually saw part of his match against Ulihrach!! :) hmmm well i know nothing about Carraz but will be most happy if guillermo thrashes him for arnaud's sake ...and for me :) are the third rounds on friday and saturday? i'm so confused with the US open scheduling...why u would spread out the first rounds over three days is past me maratgirl 08-30-2003, 11:06 AM c'mon Guillermo :worship: esther 08-30-2003, 11:28 AM hehe yes pllleassse avenge arnaud for meeeee...will be eternally grateful. :) 3rd match on Grandstand huh...will probably be like 5/6am here. hope to see he has won when i wake up tomorrow :) It's really confusing because when play starts at 11am US time, its actually 1am the NEXT DAY our time?!!! so like monday's play started at tuesday 1am here so its really confusing with the days. newayz...go guillermo!!!! Nymeria 08-30-2003, 06:10 PM Hi Esther, - Guille plays 3rd on Grandstand Curt tonight (Saturday), - it will be about 9.00 pm. British time, - sorry I can't work out what time it will be for you. And as for spreading the 1st round over 3 days, - well I don't know why they do it either, but at the risk of upsetting any Americans it is probably something to do with TV ratings and advertising as their entire schedule seems to be organised round that! Good luck to Guille anyway, - I hope he avenges Arnaud for you :) It means 10 pm here in Holland :) I hope it will be on tv, I want to see him! I haven't see him on tv since Roland Garros :o star 08-31-2003, 12:34 AM Gui!! Gui!!! Gui!!!! He took the first set tiebreaker. They showed about two seconds of him sitting down at the change over. I guess that's all I can expect this first week. :) esther 08-31-2003, 04:00 AM i saw the match point. he was really pumped!! he was soooo cuuuteee!!! he did a little jump thingy aww so cute http://eur.news1.yimg.com/eur.yimg.com/xp/ap_photo/20030831/all/l907991.jpg AWWWWWWWWW!!!! http://eur.news1.yimg.com/eur.yimg.com/xp/ap_photo/20030831/all/l907971.jpg esther 08-31-2003, 04:03 AM newayz beat that Carraz 7-5, 6-1, 7-5 and will play Bjorkman next round. Possible fourth rounds: Coria vs Agassi and Ferrero vs Hewitt :S Nymeria 08-31-2003, 08:30 AM I hope agassi will lose, because it will be really difficult for Coria do defeat him. esther 08-31-2003, 11:23 AM Please tell me that rumour about Guillermo forfeiting is not true.... i saw that he was wincing after his match when he was taking off his upppppper thigh bandage after like jumping around in happiness after he won lol but is he really forfeiting coz he doesnt want to risk not playing DC?!! star 08-31-2003, 01:00 PM Wow, Esther. Where did you read that?? I hadn't read anything about that this morning. *runs to read the interviews* maratgirl 08-31-2003, 01:10 PM what means forfeiting or something like that?? is that quit?? star 08-31-2003, 01:19 PM Withdrawing from the match. not playing. That's what it means. Here is from the dictionary: for·feit [ fáwrfət ] Actually pronounced for-fit :) noun (plural for·feits) 1. giving something up: the act or an instance of giving something up or being deprived of something as a punishment 2. penalty for wrongdoing: something that is taken away as a punishment or has to be given up to make up for a mistake or wrongdoing maratgirl 08-31-2003, 06:13 PM I see http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de/person/znaika.gif thanx for the lesson http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de/happy.gif star 08-31-2003, 06:16 PM  esther 09-01-2003, 09:19 AM awwwww!!!!! Guillermo!! maybe it would be a good idea to pull out...but he's going so well!!!!!!! so so so so sick of injuries...in general... maratgirl 09-01-2003, 01:05 PM not guillie too!! star 09-01-2003, 02:00 PM I'd like to see him push himself as much as he can here, and then take off during the indoor season, and then come back for the Masters. Don't know if that is possible with the injury he has. SanTaureau Fan 09-01-2003, 02:55 PM Any more news about Coria injury? esther 09-02-2003, 02:22 AM if he wins USO he will be number one in the race...not saying that i think that is likkely to happen but...still!! *sigh* i guess today's rain gave him another day to rest and see how it goes tomorrow... star 09-02-2003, 03:06 PM Poor baby Gui gets stuck on an outer court again. I think if he is healthy, he will win. It will be a great match. Jonas and Gui are very entertaining players. I wish they would show it, but I am sure that we will be lucky to see a few points. esther 09-02-2003, 11:17 PM well it's interesting what his thoughts about whether he considers USO or DC more important...i mean if he was older and felt he could go further in this tournament he would probably be more selfish and try to stay in US? or is that just me...i think because he knows that he'll have heaps more opportunities in grand slams, if he does pull out, he's got that. i dont know if i would prefer him to stay in USO or DC...i think i would prefer US because he just seems to be playign so well and who knows how far he can go...but then again i'm not GOING to DC so thats me being selfish ;) star 09-03-2003, 01:08 PM What a day!! I got to see Gui play about two points. Then the rain came. star 09-03-2003, 03:28 PM TV is howing Coria!!!!! Sure it's a tape delay, but what the heck. :) Make that showing. I was just so excited. star 09-03-2003, 04:35 PM I'm in the states. I think Courier is in love with Coria. I think he was the one who pushed to show the match. He was talking about his agressive game and his backhand and his smooth movement. He was saying people in the U.S. only saw him when he was playing a well known american. And talked about his record this summer. Nymeria 09-03-2003, 08:10 PM I was happy that I found some time to watch eurosport today (when did show the match of Guille again). I'm really busy with schook and work, I've hardly time to watch tennis ( I know there is only rain ;) )or be online Chloe le Bopper 09-03-2003, 10:28 PM I'm in the states. Glad to hear an american commentator giving Coria his due... seeing as that is the feed that I get most of the year, it's nice that they pretend to have heard of other players sometimes ;) Dissident 09-03-2003, 11:02 PM Im sure I would be getting a lot of Coria if this fucking rain would GO AWAAAAAY!! Chrisie 09-04-2003, 04:27 AM Well, if he plays Agassi in the quarters, which I think it's very likely to be the case, surely they will show this match. Hope it won't be night session, they don't show night session in Australia, and I don't have pay-TV. I think it's really unfair they put Coria to Court 11, he's No. 5 seed anyway, and the only who isn't on a main court. esther 09-04-2003, 11:06 AM *sigh* PLEASE DONT RAIN TODAY!!! esther 09-04-2003, 12:11 PM yeah they asked him about what he thinks about him getting put there on those stoopid courts and he didn't say he minded but it's so mean he DESERVES BETTER!! newayz...i didnt know he was down 2-6 0-2...*sigh* hope his injury isn't giving him too many problems | |
