ClaycourtaZzZz. 08-13-2005, 02:49 PM c'mon Andy:) ustennis 08-13-2005, 03:33 PM Unofficially (as always), from a buddy at the tourney today: Murray leads Bogomolov: 6-4, 3-2 (on serve) Evidently, Bogomolov led 3-0 (double break) in the first and broke a third time later in the set. But Murray broke a fourth time for 6-4. stuey87 08-13-2005, 03:36 PM Thanks ustennis. :) timmoore46 08-13-2005, 03:44 PM ustennis, you are a hero!!!!!!! I've passed the word round! ustennis 08-13-2005, 03:59 PM Murray def. Bogomolov: 6-4, 6-4 I heard the applause in the background during the call, so I am going to go ahead and call this official...unless my buddy is messing with me...which is not the case. So, at least Murray should have only a moderate length match under his belt before playing Baker later. Not ideal for him, but it could have been much worse I suppose. Robxon 08-13-2005, 04:05 PM Thanx, US Tennis. One down, One to go.. timmoore46 08-13-2005, 04:06 PM Many, many thanks!!!!! :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: Tim AndyMurray 08-13-2005, 04:10 PM Woo hoo! :D Niall 08-13-2005, 04:12 PM Thanks ustennis. :yeah: stuey87 08-13-2005, 04:15 PM The first semi looks like a good match too. Falla and Reynolds. Alejandro looks to be on the way back much to my delight but Reynolds is hot at the moment so will probably get through, perhaps in 3, in my opinion. dippykitty 08-13-2005, 04:40 PM When is the match v Baker? stuey87 08-13-2005, 04:44 PM Immediately after the conclusion of Falla vs Reynolds. ustennis 08-13-2005, 04:50 PM No, it looks like it has been given a "not before 3:00" start. dippykitty 08-13-2005, 04:51 PM Ok, thanks. Is the 6-4 6-4 result official? ClaycourtaZzZz. 08-13-2005, 04:51 PM congrats Andy:D but his serve:smash: dippykitty 08-13-2005, 05:13 PM Its encouraging that he can still pull out the win though Tricky_Forehand 08-13-2005, 05:19 PM Evidently, Bogomolov led 3-0 (double break) in the first and broke a third time later in the set. But Murray broke a fourth time for 6-4. Read that three times and still trying to make sense of it  So Alex broke Murray three times and then Murray came back to break Alex three times and then a fourth for the set? Corey Feldman 08-13-2005, 05:24 PM Yes andy :D bye bye bogo :bigwave: ClaycourtaZzZz. 08-13-2005, 06:00 PM Read that three times and still trying to make sense of it  So Alex broke Murray three times and then Murray came back to break Alex three times and then a fourth for the set? e was leading 4-0, served and got broken 4 times, 4-6 :worship: ustennis 08-13-2005, 06:07 PM Read that three times and still trying to make sense of it  So Alex broke Murray three times and then Murray came back to break Alex three times and then a fourth for the set? Bogomolov broke twice to start the match. I simply do not know the chronology of the additional breaks, but when it was all said and done, it was 6-4 Murray. In total for the set, Bogomolov broke 3 times and Murray 4. shyscots25 08-13-2005, 06:26 PM it doesn't matter, main thing is he won!!!! Aleksa's Laydee 08-13-2005, 06:37 PM ANDY :yeah: :bounce: timmoore46 08-13-2005, 07:01 PM Is Murray's match due to start soon? dippykitty 08-13-2005, 07:11 PM Has the Reynolds-Falla match finished yet? kundalini 08-13-2005, 07:38 PM Murray - Bogomolov, Jr. 6-4,6-4 Falla - Reynolds 6-3,3-6,7-6(1) Murray - Baker not yet started due to rain delay Niall 08-13-2005, 07:39 PM :rain: shyscots25 08-13-2005, 07:53 PM Rain is good, gives Andy more time to rest!.. He needs to rest for the final;) if he could finish it yet, he could have more rest. shyscots25 08-13-2005, 08:13 PM One game at a time, he needs to win the semi before the final is even in contemplation! Either way he can handle it!! He could do with one free day though before he plays at cincy! timmoore46 08-13-2005, 08:19 PM Has it stopped raining yet? Scotso 08-13-2005, 11:24 PM Andrew :D ClaycourtaZzZz. 08-13-2005, 11:24 PM yup, but he'll fall down next week cause of the futures titles... stuey87 08-13-2005, 11:24 PM I'm not sure, I think I worked it out as he'd be low 130s, but other players in that region have done well this week I think. We'll have to wait and see I guess. Let's focus on the great achievement of winning the two matches in just the one day for now and hope his stamina lasts against Alejandro. stuey87 08-13-2005, 11:25 PM yup, but he'll fall down next week cause of the futures titles... Only very slightly, they're only 10 or 12 points a title. ClaycourtaZzZz. 08-13-2005, 11:26 PM good night my friends:) hopefully he won't play longer those challengers, I can't live without SB, so c'mon Cincy;) ClaycourtaZzZz. 08-13-2005, 11:27 PM 10 points are in his rankings about 5 places. but he covered it up with the QF. Now he can earn some points:p Duncan 08-13-2005, 11:28 PM lets go andy lets go! now i can go to sleeeeeeep! ClaycourtaZzZz. 08-13-2005, 11:28 PM One thing is for sure, He'll take the week before the US Open off;):p stuey87 08-13-2005, 11:28 PM FU, 16-Aug-04, O, Clay , Draw: 32 R32 Puentes, German (ESP ) 0 6-3 6-1 R16 Esquerdo, Ivan (ESP ) 0 2-6 4-6 Isn't it only about 2 points or something that'll come off for this (next week of last year) anyway? Ah well, it doesn't matter for now, I'm overjoyed he's won through to the championship match today. Good night! ClaycourtaZzZz. 08-13-2005, 11:30 PM Andy for live:cool: see y'all tomorrow, the win is ours:) shyscots25 08-13-2005, 11:31 PM yeah defo bedtime for me too!....great way to end the day! Oh I didn't know they were delayed. Thanks for enlightening me :worship: Niall 08-13-2005, 11:58 PM Andy currently has 291 ranking points. He will lose 12 points from his futures win last year giving him 279. But by reaching the final he is guarenteed to add 35 points giving him 314 which should bump his ranking up to roughly 138. :yeah: If he wins tomorrow that is another 15 points giving Andy 329 and a ranking of roughly 133. :yeah: :yeah: The main thing is that this is another step towards Murray's long term goal of about 425 ranking points which should be good enough for Andy to break into the top hundred. Corey Feldman 08-14-2005, 12:08 AM Murray takes care of another american deadbeat :D stuey87 08-14-2005, 12:08 AM Thanks Niall :yeah: The main benefit from me getting it wrong was finding Manzarbeitia-Ugate, Arkaitz (ESP ). I want to steal his absolutely fantastic name :D Shrinking Violet 08-14-2005, 12:53 AM Great result for Andy. :worship: Hopefully he'll be able to win tomorrow as well. I think the WC for Cincy has given him a wee shot in the arm. AndyMurray 08-14-2005, 08:25 AM One thing is for sure, He'll take the week before the US Open off;):p They spoke with Petchey and Andy via a telephone link-up on Sky Sports the other day... Mark said that if Andy gets a wildcard into the US Open then he'll go to the New Haven qualifying at the end of next week. But he certainly won't play a challenger that week no. timmoore46 08-14-2005, 08:29 AM Quote from official site Andy Murray got a bit of luck today as he won both matches to get to the final. In his first match with Bogomolov, Jr. the heat was brutal as they engaged in long rallies throughout the match. This match was full of service breaks, 7 total in the first set. In the 10th game, on match point, the players exchanged a great rally where Murray was dictating and pushing Bogomolov, Jr. side to side and then finally he put up a lob. With Murray right on the net, he had to scramble a couple of steps to his backhand side but came up with the winner overhead crosscourt to end it. Great athleticism in that point all around. Both players were exhausted, as demonstrated by Bogomolov, Jr. sitting in a official’s chair prior to match point to catch his breath. Also in that final game, Murray almost came up with another brilliant down the line running backhand, like he did with Mankad to save match point in that 2nd round match. Today's 1st match lasted 1:40 minutes. In the 2nd semifinal, talk about luck for Andy. It started thundering just as Brian was digging out his racket on centre court. The rain came and the players wouldn't get back out until 5pm. Brian must have been shaking his head quite a bit because no doubt he had the edge if they had started 2 hours earlier. Some tough breaks in tennis, but that was potentially a big one. If Baker had won this one, that US Open wild card would have looked good. So they start at 5, and Murray broke right away for a 2-0 lead. In the ensuing game, on Murray’s serve and game point, the chair overruled a Murray volley on the far side of the court that was initially ruled in. Murray went to his chair and sat in disbelief. Talk about emotion on the court like John McEnroe... Andy was entertaining with his talking and body language and continual evil eye on the ball marks. In the next game, the chair umpire again overruled when Baker’s 1st serve to the ad court was called out. Murray argued the over-rule and continued to demonstrate his frustration for the next few points and Baker won the game for a 3-1 Murray advantage. At this point, you wondered if we were headed for a similar match to the Mankad one... lots of frustration and distraction for Murray. At 4-1, love-40 Murray again disagreed with a call and got a code violation warning for audible obscenity after approaching the chair. The crowd starting getting behind Baker. Maybe that is a difference in Murray, because he put it aside and broke again in the 7th game, when Baker put 2 relatively easy backhands into the net... that's when you knew Baker wasn't having an "on day". end quote Aleksa's Laydee 08-14-2005, 10:58 AM  ANDY!!! :woohoo: AndyMurray 08-14-2005, 11:08 AM Taylor Dent had better watch out next week ;) ClaycourtaZzZz. 08-14-2005, 11:16 AM Doubles final starts at 12:00 pm followed by: Murray Vs. Falla Mistaflava 08-14-2005, 01:18 PM Should be interesting. I don't see Murray losing this match but by the looks of things, Falla has been fighting like crazy all week. shyscots25 08-14-2005, 03:17 PM Falla is a decent player, and so it will indeed be a good match for Murray! He should win though!! Come on Andy! Tennis_Mad 08-14-2005, 04:52 PM What time do we reckon Andy will be on court? AndyMurray 08-14-2005, 05:03 PM Should be around 7pm, assuming the doubles started on time and there's no more rain! :) Niall 08-14-2005, 05:10 PM The Binghampton Press & Sun-Bulletin has a good report of yesterday's matches. http://www.pressconnects.com/today/sports/stories/sp081405s184494.shtml ClaycourtaZzZz. 08-14-2005, 05:42 PM "I don't care," Murray said. "I played in Israel in Davis Cup and there was about 5,000 people there and they were screaming during the points when we were throwing the ball up and booing us when we won points. I don't really care. I was just saying what I felt and I think it's better to do that than lie to yourself when the umpire's being pretty bad." :haha: AndyMurray 08-14-2005, 05:44 PM Good for him ;) ClaycourtaZzZz. 08-14-2005, 05:58 PM Any news of the Double?
