He is No. 40 in the rankings and is seeded 9th? Semifinalist in 2004 or not, that is not logical...

Okay, then he is 27th. I just checked the Top 40 list here. However, I know that Wimbledon can seed players like they want but that is a bit too much IMO.

The Top 40 list here is complied as the projected rankings for next week.

If you want the official stats and records, you must always visit the ATP website.

But if you're a tennis journalist, you don't have to visit the ATP website - you just make up your own facts and figures.

he'll be 40 next week if he doesn't defend his semifinalist points... the top 40 here is updated taking off points and stuff (Thanks to those who take the time to do that for us!)

Anyway, they don't seed "how they want," they plug it into a widely-published formula. Grosjean's ranking dropped but he has had the third best grass results over the past 2 years, which is what is counted in the formula. Hence, his seeding skyrockets.

You on the contrary can`t hide that you are a Brit. Your jokes are so bad, everybody notices where you come from!

I know Wimby follows a special seedings rule bleh bleh, but I still think Grosjean is overrated

Actually, I'm not British. I just live in the UK.

You, on the other hand, are just using someone's supposed nationality as an insult to divert attention from your complete and utter lack of knowledge.

He has earned his seed in the last couple of years. It's not like grass it's a big season, so I think those specialists should benefit from Wimbledon's seeds formula.

It's actually perfectly logical.

it's perfectly logical becausehe's made the semis the last 2 years and they base the seedings on both the players rank and their performances OVER THE LAST TWO YEARS.

If they were just making some subjective decision they would not have seeded him 9 as that is no different from seeding him 10, 11 or 12. he would be top 8 probably.

it's the same reason Hewitt was dropped below Roddick - Roddick has performed better the last two years and therefore his rank on grass came out higher.

btw i fail to see how you can be overrated when you've won made 2 consecutive Wimbledon semis, Queens finals and only lost to eventual champ the last three years or something, and i think he's won Nottingham.

he is also the player who probably challenged nadal most at Roland Garros as well.

Oh switz, it's never going to make sense to some people - even if it is perfectly logical (insofar as a surface specific seeding system that determines each individuals seed by the same algorithm is logical) ;)

Their problem should be with the seeding system - not with Grosjean's seed itself.

How can you say he is overrated??? I mean if he has done well on grass lately and his ranking is high how is he overrated?

Sebie has had fantastic grasscourt results over the last two years. His ranking wouldn't be 27 if he wasn't injured in '04. Grosjean is in the last 16. So, therefore, he already has fulfilled his top 16 seeding. I don't see what the problem is.

Me to. What's wrong with you guys, what's de matter with seb seeding? It's not your job, if he's here, there's some reasons believe me. And you'll see he'll beat roddick in quarter to prove you that is seeding goes well to him...
