Deivid23 06-25-2005, 02:05 PM Mayer was supposed to be a grass-court specialist too! lol, don´t hear those things. He plays well on grass, but his fav surface is clay Fedex 06-25-2005, 02:12 PM :woohoo: DDrago2 06-25-2005, 02:14 PM As expected. Gongratulations Ferrero! Ferrero is the only clay-corter who can play on grass... Hats off. Mayer is very strong on grass, but Ferrero just shows he is more then another spanish base-liner. Alghough he was over-rated during 2003... revolution 06-25-2005, 02:16 PM Fernando Gonzalez can also play on grass! Although hard courts are his best surface :D Fedex 06-25-2005, 02:17 PM lol, don´t hear those things. He plays well on grass, but his fav surface is clay I think mayer prefers that faster surfaces. Atleast that is what I've heard. Corinna 06-25-2005, 02:18 PM :worship: juanqui :woohoo: welcome to week 2 :yeah: Fedex 06-25-2005, 02:18 PM As expected. Gongratulations Ferrero! Ferrero is the only clay-corter who can play on grass... Hats off. Mayer is very strong on grass, but Ferrero just shows he is more then another spanish base-liner. Alghough he was over-rated during 2003... He made 2 slam finals in 03, and won one of them. How was he overrated? Neely 06-25-2005, 02:18 PM Very weak from Mayer from what I've seen in this match. He couldn't hold the same attitude as in the first set and played too passively for the rest of the match. Then Ferrero dictated almost every point from the baseline and Mayer was not able to put up resistence to that. I didn't see enough, but I think that Mayer was caught in a maelstrom that went in only one direction for him: downwards. On the other side of the net, Ferrero played better and better so congrats to him! Disappointing loss in the last three sets of Mayer, but I hope he is able to stand up and get some points somewhere else and successfully working on his psyche. (BTW, I'm still thankful to Mayer for coming back against Ferrer at WTC, thanks! ;) ) Clara Bow 06-25-2005, 02:32 PM Yay for JCF! Two Spaniards in the Round of 16! Alvarillo 06-25-2005, 03:51 PM JuannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnKiiiiiiiiiii :bounce:  Vamos Vamos Vamossssss ! I♥PsY@Mus!c 06-25-2005, 03:54 PM :woohoo: Congrats to Juan! lalaland 06-25-2005, 05:24 PM Alghough he was over-rated during 2003... lol. You mean the hype he got when ESPN showed only 1 set out of his 4 Wimbledon matches he played that year? or that they were nice enough not to demote his seeding from his actual ranking that year? or when Patrick Mac predicted an upset from Todd Martin before he plays Ferrero in USO 4th round? or Johnny Mac saying he has almost no chance beating Agassi on Center Court before the SF? Not to mention all the questions he got that year is "why are you such an unknown in US after winning RG?" Well, he said he wants to win USO after winning RG, at least he has a Final appearance to back it up. And he was the one getting the most points from the 4 slams that year if I'm not mistaken. Back to this win, a little unexpected because I thought after rain, the ball bounces lower and he may have a harder time. But he came through. I don't expect him to beat Fed, just hope that he will play well and push Fed to the limit. Scotso 06-25-2005, 06:25 PM nice win Juanqui :D Raquel 06-25-2005, 08:38 PM Well done JCF :yeah: His backhand has been so good this week. bad gambler 06-26-2005, 12:08 AM Ferrero was just too good, I underestimated him today Would like to see him give fed a real contest :) yomike 06-26-2005, 03:04 AM i didn't know mayer reach wimby qf last year. good win jc just dont get yourself butchered by Heidi's compatriot. RogiFan88 06-26-2005, 03:18 AM I told Juanqui to show who the better player is and he did!! Well done, Juanqui, into the 2nd week!!! Haute 06-26-2005, 03:53 AM Be careful what you wish for. ;) | |
