Good job Feña!!!! :bigclap:
Like I said before in another thread... he is an all-court player, not a claycourter like many people qualified him in this forum. I hope he can win more matches in this tournament and he reach QF to finally plays against Fed ;)

Gonzos style of play makes him dangerous on any surface :D he is actually quite an allcourt player i think. Zib isnt a bad player either, so its a good win :yeah:

At 5 ft 10, Johansson would have a field day against him.

3rd round @ Wimbledon 2004 for Gonzo. Not bad.

We'll see how well Pim goes against 4 inches less.

23 aces total today, 11 in 4th set.

Thanks :wavey: should be quite the battle of serves. Gonzalez may surprise Pim Pim, his return game is good where as Pim Pim not so much.

Zib is 5'10". I was comparing the probability of aces vs. him.

Gonzo is 6'0" as denoted.

LOL. ;) Well as to your other statement, yes he could, but Karlovic at 6'10" would have a 'field day' against Johansson at 6'6" ;)

IMO, the cut-off for 20+ aces from a relatively good, accurate server in the 120MPH avg. range is 6'0".

I doubt Gonzo will out-ace Pim.

Probably not, but I would be suprised if Gonzo didn't get into double figures in the ace category. I do know that if Johansson and Federer play, Federer will out ace him, but he's one of the few in the tournement that actually can.

Federer hit only 9 aces today compared to Johansson's 23.

I know Pim's went a set longer, but Roger's focus is more on placement and you can't argue looking at the results.

He doesn't average alot on his serve either, only 117 MPH I believe today.

I understand the faith in your player, but outacing Pim is a category Roger I feel would not exceed in and Roger probably doesn't care as long as he comes away successful.

Yes, but in an indvidual match, rarely does Federer get out aced by his opponent. Dont forget that a couple of years ago at Wimbledon, Federer out aced Roddick by a margin of 17-4. That's impressive.

The Roddick serve has improved immensely, most notably at the USO last year and the 153-MPH record. It will definitely be alot closer if Federer can outlast Pim in the QF.

Roddick has not been outaced this year either I don't believe.

As far as Karlovic/Pim, we will not know the answer to that as Ivo is pretty much a grass-court specialist and will have to likely proceed past the first or second round to have a sniff at Johansson.

Remember, Johansson outlasted Ljubicic on indoor earlier this year in straight sets, not even a tiebreak.

Roddick surely has the draw on his side though, the door is open to meet Roger in the finals.

The fastest serve today was Taylor Dent at 146 MPH. Johansson averaged more than him per 1st serve however at 125 MPH to 123.

Also, Minar must be pretty quick to only allow 9 aces. That's a pretty admirable return job vs. Federer for someone that short.

Indeed. Impressive and almost impossible to think that Roddick would only serve 4 aces in 16 service games plus a TB. He just reads it so well. Federer also outaced Flip in the final by a good number (can't remember the total) who had hit 40+ aces against Agassi. Federer also outaced Marat who served over 60% of his first serves in and over 70% the first two sets in the Australian Open when Federer hit around 50% by a total of 22-16. He also outaced Roddick in last year's final at Wimby, in Canada, and in Thailand. He just finds a way to read that serve and get his racquet on it while he fools you on his serve.

146, that's some serious heat. I didn't think Dent could serve that fast anymore.
