... To get past the first couple of rounds in Grand Slams... He lost again, 6-4 6-4 6-4 to Jürgen Melzer. Does anyone have a theory on the fact that Ljubicic cannot get far in a Grand Slam tournament?

Yeah, but even before that he didn't ever reach beyond third round... Even though he has the potential. Especially on hc, ra and grass.

Though im not happy Ljubo lost but this gives him a chance to rest and i expect him to be the player he was earlier this year when the summer hardcourt seasons starts and do well at the Us open and then it will be his favorite surface the indoor carpet season where he will have his best results so its not that bad for Ljubo man.

The excuse was that Melzer was a Wimbledon junior champ :D

he didn't burn himself out. he just hates clay and grass

he is not good on grass, THE USOPEN is the best grand slam for his game.

It´s how hype works, early in the year Ljubicic was best player in the world after Federer, and now he´s a mug. Wait and see for threads claiming him as a top 5 material when summer hard courts and later indoor season come.

ah.. problem is not in the surface or form, he was in good form at AO, and he likes that surface also, but he managed to lost in first round there also :(
