Of course Coria is just a dirtballer and we all know that dirtballers have never and will never achieve anything on grass.

But what I don't get... Compare this match with his game at Rosmalen last week. Is it just his competitor who was stronger last week or is there more?

Behrend on grass :rolls: :( Behrend never won on grass so far and he hardly showed up/qualified for Wimbledon. This guy is definitely beyond help on grass :help: :help:

Just too bad for Behrend that he currently can't even win anything on clay. The 2nd round of Roland Garros this year has to be considered as his highlight of all Grand Slams already :o

Well done to Coria!
I think just too solid....

Don't know why everybody is so sure that Malisse will send him packing... Malisse is struggling to put away Jonathan Marray, down 1-2 sets :tape:

With Malisse a break up in the 4th, though. Who would have seriously expected Malisse to struggle against Marray? Playing against a British WC at Wimbledon has been the best draw for as long as I can remember.

Not if your name is Mello, Bastl and now Malisse (although the X-man is now rolling through the 4th set)

I hope Coria does well, I have really changed my mind about this guy. I used to hate him and now I think he's one of the most interesting guys in the game. I am no longer afraid to say it "I like Coria!". I also think Coria has some of the most underated hands in the game, he can volley so well and his serve is picking up. I look for him to pull a couple of upsets.

I don't get it either . . . I'll grant that Coria is a little off but Malisse has been way off for most of this season . . . if Coria does what he did today, he'll be in fine shape.

I used to hate him and now I think he's one of the most interesting guys in the game. I am no longer afraid to say it "I like Coria!"

I agree that he is one of the most intereting players out there. I love watching Coria matches. In addtion to his skills (including the deft hands that you mentioned) I just really enjoy watching him on the court between points. Although I do get irked at his tendency to question line calls, I really get a hoot out of him otherwise. He frequently talks (to himself, to his towels, to the sky), likes to hit himself on the head with the raquet, will smile and shurg when his opponent hits a shot that is too good for him to play, and is not immune to putting tennis balls in his mouth. Can be very fun to watch.

And am I reading this wrong or did he actullay answer a couple of questions in English today.
http://www.wimbledon.org/en_GB/news/interviews/2005-06-21/200506211119361989020.html

If so, his English, although this is just a few sentances, is quite good. I know he can pretty much understand all questions posed to him in English. I wonder why he doesn't want to speak it more. Is it because he wants to be sure his thoughts are accurately conveyed?

I think he's a lot of fun to watch. I pretty much agree with Clara, but I don't mind his questioning calls because I think he does it in an endearing manner. :)

He IS brazilean. But he plays for Germany because he was transferred to Germany with his family when he was an adolescent and then he adopted the German nationality because his grandparents are German and the German government supported his tennis career.

Guille :worship: :worship:

I know I tease him a lot but I respect him as a player, I would love seeing him do well on other surfaces. I remember last years Houston masters series when he played Roddick, he really gave it his all and forced Andy to play well too. So vamos Gullie, maybe you can pull the big upset (I can dream cant I ;) )

Yes. He doesn't want to be misquoted. I don't remember when or where I read that, but I'm positive. He has a touch of paranoia to him, but I don't blame him ;)

Well done, Coria!
I hope he can a good run here, he really needs to after his somewhat disappointing Roland Garros. I think he can handle everyone till the 4th round, and here's me hoping that if he gets that far, he'll be able to push Roddick a bit.

For now I'm happy he won in such great style! I can't believe people don't like him, I agree with everything Clara said, he's so fun to watch! Vamos, Guille!

I guess that the fact that Behrend was actually raised in Brazil for the most part of his life unfortunately has something to do with his sucking on grass. I wish there were grasscourters (or who can play decently on it) down in South America, like Nalbandian or... Sa (oops, :tape: not)
