I think Paradorn still has a rusty game. I watched him play in Davis Cup against Korea in Bangkok. He did not played well, having low percentage of first serve and did not hit the ball well.

He need to play some more match.

Good luck next week Paradorn.

Justin Gimelstob celebrated his return to the top 100 with one of his best victories ever.

The 98th-ranked Gimelstob, who has been out of the top 100 for nearly two years, upset 13th-ranked Paradorn Srichaphan of Thailand, 7-5, 6-2.

"I just tried not to give him anything and not let him control play," said Gimelstob, who reached a career high ranking of 80th in 1998. "I've been playing well and this is a good win."

It's the highest ranked player Gimelstob has beaten since knocking off then No. 7 Todd Martin in August of 1999 in Cincinnati.

The second-seeded Srichaphan held a 5-3 advantage in the first set before Gimelstob rallied.

"I started feeling a good rhythm and I was attacking a lot," said Gimelstob.

Srichaphan had 39 unforced errors and only got 44 percent of his first serves in.

This first-round match seemed to be easy early for Srichaphan. He jumped to a 5-2 lead in the first set and looked to serve it out at 5-3. But then, despite a sizable number of fans waving Thai flags and banners, he fell apart and never recovered.

``I didn't expect all those fans,'' Srichaphan said. ``Hopefully, I will play better here the next time and will have a few more days between the Davis Cup and this tournament.''

Srichaphan said he had trouble focusing his vision during the second set because of the strain of traveling after Davis Cup competition last week in Bangkok. He was obviously off his game, committing six double faults to Gimelstob's one and 39 unforced errors to his opponent's 22.

I read someplace that Todd had to fly home because his
baby boy (born Jan. 21st) had to have emergency surgery.
The article didn't mention the exact problem. I hope baby
Jack will be alright.

LMFAO@Paradorn losing to gimelstob!!

I remind you all of Australia, when Gambill was soundly beating Younes, then retired with injury up 2-1 sets. Younes as we all know, went on to take out Hewitt.

So I hold out hope that Gambill will almost beat somebody else, who will go on to beat Andre.

*crosses fingers*
