I'm glad Mario isn't #2. :o

Why the hell are Ljubicic and Nadal in the top 20???

I don't have the patience to do a top 20, but here's the top 10 guys for me at least:

1. Federer
2. Roddick
3. Hewitt
4. Henman
5. Grosjean
6. Ancic
7. Safin (One tourney does not make me a huge believer in him on grass just yet...)
8. Nalbandian
9. Agassi (at this point in his career, if he were healthy, I'd rank him around here)
10. Karlovic

Horatio Caine

Ljubicic has done nothing of merit on the surface...I don't have any recollections of a run at all.

Nadal...he has played only 2 tournaments on grass in his life???

Soderling shouldn't be in there either. Malisse should be top 15 IMO.

my top 5 would look like the following:

1. Federer
2. Roddick
3. Hewitt
4. Grosjean
5. Henman

not so sure how I would continue...

For me, Grosjean deserves to be right behind Federer/Roddick/Hewitt. For me he has done the best demage on grass behind the top 3 guys and had better results than than Henman the last years.

For the lack of better players? Maybe.

You are right with Philippoussis.

Mayer - Wimbledon QF
Popp - Wimbledonm QF, F Newport
Ginepri - consistently wins rounds, as does Beck.

What has Safin done on grass to merit being ahead of Grosjean and Henman? Are you basing your rankings off of just this year, or lifetime achievement?

Something like that. I think that putting him in the top 20 based on his 2-2 record is roughly as absurd as deciding that he must blow on the surface based on his limited results ;)

Ljubicic has the game for grass...huge serve....solid return game...+ he's won the liverpool exibtion last 2 years ;) he just needs to get the mind with the game and he is going deep at wimby

Safin has done roughly as much as Coria has. Note that Coria, rightfully, didn't make any lists :p

Grass Court Rankings:

1. Federer
2. Roddick
3. Grosjean
4. Hewitt
5. Ancic
6. Henman
7. Thomas Johansson
8. Karlovic
9. Safin
10. Schalken

Chloe le Bopper

Coria is 5-5 on grass for his career. Safin is 10-6 since 2000. 5 of those wins came way back in 2001 . (so says tennis.matchstat.com). Safin has won more than one match in a row on grass twice - his only two good grass tournaments ever.

Popp is apparently 18-10 on the surface since 2000. And he's not on any lists?

I can't believe that Greg Rusedski is on only one list.

Recency effect. Or favouritism :p

If there is anything wrong with these stats, blame the site ;)

I suppose that if the rankings are based on results from this year only, the lists make a bit more sense ;)

Understanding the criteria is always key. Perhaps I don't :p

Chloe, if it is any consolation, Coria will always be the #1 grass courter in my heart!
(I just won't say it in the public. :tape: )

7. Nalbandian
8. Agassi
9. Schalken (horrible this year but his grass record is very good)
10. Karlovic

Safin still needs to prove himself on grass, he had a pretty good week and gave Federer a tough match, but then so did Soderling & Stepanek almost beat Roddick at Queens while beating a few other good players there and I dont see him on any list.

With the addition of Jonas... and PimPim....and Greg (boofhead Newport winner! ) Just a little favouritism in there ;)

Yeah, it seems like it's based off this year and maybe last year - as for me, my list'd include Federer, Roddick, and Hewitt as the three favourites, and Safin (just for his Halle performance, I guess :D), Henman, Grosjean, Karlovic, and Ancic as contennders (with some others I've probably missed, of course).

you put nalbandian (who made the wimbledon finals but has kinda done nothing in years) and dent in the top10?

and no karlovic?

in the last three years he's something like 21-7 on grass.

I'm not sure what I would do with David. He's 9-3 on grass in his career with those 9 wins coming at Wimbledon. Not bad for somebody who has only played the event twice.

If you want to base it on overall Wimbledon performance, he certainly has a case over Karlovic (not that Karlovic has fared badly there over the last two years).

Yeah, I´ve noticed you can read quite well. And no, Karlovic is not on my top 10 on grass.
