Time to come back to the earth Alexander
lol ;) but he did well enough, not only against Nadal, also today against Ferrero.

For the reading pleasure of everybody, I'll copy my impressions from this match that I posted over in the German forum in his thread in here as well:

------------

Ferrero def. Waske 7-6(5) 6-7(7) 6-3

Waske lost it, but I think he threw in everything he had within his possibilities. He certainly played at the limit in his own service games. No breaks of serve in the first set, the whole tiebreak only saw one minibreak. Waske had 4 aces and another service winner in the tiebreak alone, but at the end it was still not good enough because Ferrero did a good job on his own serve and Waske couldn't return the ball very well and had no chance in the rallies.
In the 2nd set there was the same thing happening, no breaks of serves the whole set, another unbelievably intense tiebreak. Again only one single minibreak, this time it came by Waske as he played on of his best rallies of the set at this deciding moment, moving Ferrero around with offensive shots and finishing the point with an overhead smash. Tiebreak by 9-7 for Waske.
The third set seemed to be another close one, but Ferrero got the first and only break of the match as Waske fell down 0-30 because of a 2nd serve foot-fault. Unlucky for him in that situation, but the decision was correct and replay showed he touched the line. Ferrero made then 15-40, Waske could save another one with an ace, but the second break point was it for Ferrero: Alex double faulted on a net cord serve that bounced out long  He then had good chances in the next service game of Ferrero and in the final game with another break point, but he gambled (guessed) for the wrong side on Ferrero's 2nd serve and got a 2nd serve ace in the open corner to have it saved.

Not a high quality match, but it was very exciting because of the closeness and because you knew that the slightest mistake will get punished resulting in the outcome. Unfortunately, the wrong side for most of us, but Alexander certainly justified his WC here with his win over Nadal and another repectable performance against Ferrero today.

Well, I could enjoy it because I don't mind 30 aces, lots of return errors and service winners if the match is close and exciting because both players were going toe-to-toe.

Like I said, it wasn't a high quality match regarding great shotmaking or beautifully played points, the toughness and high tension was it because it was open until the final game.

not much chance as long as Federer is playing
Ferrero/Haas could meet Federer in the semifinal, both their weakest surface against Federer's strongest.... they need :help: :help: from the Almighty one to even stand a chance :( :o
