I looked at the Halle draw and saw that Safin is playing his favorite opponent, Fabrice Santoro. I know that Safin has never liked grass, but I don't think Santoro's style would be good for grass either. Do you think Safin will be able to win this or will he end up with a 1-8 record versus Santoro?

Every little detail indicates another Marat loss!
I hope he wins though.

So basically there is not a thing that Marat might find favorable for him.
The opponent, the surface, his knee, the scheduled time of the match, his hair.... :o

I don't think any of these matches are televised in the US, but I'd love to see it. I can just imagine someone with Safin's personality getting very angry with Santoro.

I wish I could see one of the Safin/Santoro matches too. They have to be hilarious:) Lil' Santoro slicing the hell out of the ball & hitting dropshots & wierd shots, while Big Safin(2X GS champ & former no.1) goes insane & breaks 10 racquets....
I just don't understand how a player as good as Marat could have THAT much trouble with someone like Santoro...I guess it's one of those things u just have to see to completely understand.

Has Marat ever won a grass court title? Maybe this is the year. :tennis: :) Beating Santora has to help his confidence on grass. But I just hope Marat's knee holds up so he can play well at Wimbledon.
