will Wimbledon seeding committee kick out of Top 8 seeds - Davydenko or Canas to get Henman seeded in top 8?
Whom do you think ..ys 06-05-2005, 05:20 PM will Wimbledon seeding committee kick out of Top 8 seeds - Davydenko or Canas to get Henman seeded in top 8? star 06-05-2005, 05:21 PM I'm thinking they will drop Canas. Is it for sure Canas will play Wimbledon? the cat 06-05-2005, 05:22 PM If they drop Canas the next year the French Open should drop Roddick or someone else to make room for a top clay court player. TennisLurker 06-05-2005, 05:22 PM Canas has done good on grass in the Past. jtipson 06-05-2005, 05:23 PM Both of them. Henman and Grosjean to get top eight seeding. Chris Seahorse 06-05-2005, 05:24 PM I'm thinking they will drop Canas. Is it for sure Canas will play Wimbledon? Is Canas injured? I hope not. I can't think of any other reason he wouldn't play at Wimbledon. He's a fine player on any surface grass included. Davydenko on the other hand is hopeless on grass. This seems a no brainer decision to me. *Ljubica* 06-05-2005, 05:27 PM Canas is almost certain to be in the Argentine DC Team for the tie on grass in Australia, so he will definately be playing Wimbledon. And - no - he's not injured - he is in Halle and planning to play doubles (with David) as well as singles to get grass court practice. Star had me a little scared there. :) Chloe le Bopper 06-05-2005, 05:38 PM Canas has done good on grass in the Past. Certainly better than Davydenko, no? Aphex 06-05-2005, 05:43 PM I think Wimbledon will stop spitting at the ATP tour and abolish their stupid seeding commitee, finally acknowledging there is an outside tennis world... :p Nah, they probably won't  CooCooCachoo 06-05-2005, 05:50 PM Davydenko, probably  Cañas would be unforgivable. Vass 06-05-2005, 05:51 PM Safin Chris Seahorse 06-05-2005, 05:56 PM Safin  Yeah you have a point here. Although in fairness even Davydenko (0-7 career on grass) makes Marat look good on grass. And Marat did have that one good grasscourt year back in 2001. It's not impossible he could have another one. Horatio Caine 06-05-2005, 06:01 PM I HAVE DISCUSSED THIS POINT AT LENGTH See posts in "Nadal - Top 4" thread and in The Wimbledon forum under its own thread. Horatio Caine 06-05-2005, 06:03 PM In essence, both Davydenko and Canas are dropped to #9 and #10, although Agassi for one is likely to withdraw, therefore bumping Davydenko up to #8. star 06-05-2005, 06:04 PM Both of them. Henman and Grosjean to get top eight seeding. Good point. star 06-05-2005, 06:04 PM Glad to hear that, Rosie. Star had me a little scared there. :) awww. I didnt' mean to scare you. I was just wondering myself and looking for information. Chris Seahorse 06-05-2005, 06:11 PM awww. I didnt' mean to scare you. I was just wondering myself and looking for information. It's cool :D Melvins 06-05-2005, 06:44 PM The Wimbledon has a own ranking system. Entry Ranking Points + Last Year Points in Grass + 75% of Wimbledon (2004). I'm not sure of % points of "Last Year Points" in Grass and "Wimbledon" but I think it's this. So Wimbledon don't choice, just has another system. Scotso 06-06-2005, 12:07 AM Roland Garros should reduce Henman in retaliation for stuff like this. It's sad they can't just go by the rankings. Here's hoping his draw isn't the fully and elaborately constructed cakewalk that it normally is. bad gambler 06-06-2005, 12:18 AM both lol | |
