Easy draw for Nadal? He is most probably facing Joachim Johansson in second round. I wouldn't call it easy at all...

yeah JJ could overpower Nadal easily on grass and hardcourt

That's what I thought at first but if you look closely ... J. Johansson is in Roger's section and could face Roger ...I don't know 3rd round or QF. It's hard to read the way they print this.

Yeah, he probably would. That's why it's disappointing that JJ is in Roger's section not Nadal's. Nadal's strongest grass court player is Haas. I don't know if technically Haas is more of a hardcourt or grass court guy. In any case, Haas has not been playing well.......so it hardly matters. It's an easy draw for Nadal. Nadal must have incredible luck or else these draws really are fixed.

I dont think this is an easy draw for him. Remember that he's actually beatable on this surface, unlike on clay. ;) There are plenty of players who could knock him out early. I do hope he gets through though, because I would like to see how Nadal fairs against Federer on grass. ;)

nadal could easily lose to waske. waske has a big serve and good volleys. the grass takes away all of nadal's strengths and exposes his weaknesses.

Well, looking at all the players that Safin must face, I can easily seeing him do well as none of the folks in his section SHOULD trouble him but what troubles Marat is his mind on this surface and that's a shame.

come on Safin losing against Santoro on grass i don't think so

Since 2002 Marat Safin has won exactly 1 that's O-N-E match on grass and lost three. He is not a great Grass Court player. He is not even a particularly good grasscourt player. But why when he has a big serve and heavy powerground strokes isn't he better? The reason is because he doesn't like the low bounces. And if anyone can produce low bouces it's Fabrice Santoro. Frankly playing Santoro on grass would be Safin's greatest nightmare. Not that I expect to see that match up happen. He will probably lose to Popp.

Exactly. We can also remember the follwing quotes by Marat about Santoro:

"He's the only person in the world who can beat me - no, I mean who beat me five times in a row withut any problems. This is the only one who can drive me crazy on the court like he already did for two years."

"Being told I am having to play Santoro is like being told I am going to die"

I reconised that pic as being Nadal right away and it's a good pic too. I don't think he looks like a girl in it either, although it reminds me strangely of a picture of Anna Karina from the 1960s.
