Mary Carillo said on NBC that Mardy is having wrist surgery and will be out the rest of the year.

That's depressing.

Eowyn Talked to James today at Queens and he said that Mardy is going to see another doctor and if he recommends surgery too, he'll go ahead and have the surgery.

From what they've put on Mardy's site, it sounds like it'd be scopic surgery and he might only be out 3 months.... but still....

I really don't think after playing hurt at RG he'd take another risk like this, atleast not this soon after it.

Hopefully all is well in Mardy land though.

Just wanted to let you guys know that Mardy wrote a little update on his official site's forum saying he's recovering at home from the surgery and hopes to come back for Newport.

i think newport is rushing it a bit to me!

He'll probably show up, flame out in the first round, hurt himself more and have to sit out twice the amount of time.

Such is the way of the Mardy. *le sigh*

Mardy's not in the Newport draw. Methinks this is good for him. Gives him another coupla weeks to make sure he's ok.

Agreed :) Never good to rush coming back after injury

Jennay
07-05-2005, 08:26 PM
It's for sure a good choice. We don't want him to come back too early. I just hope he's doing something, and not sitting on his ass. :o It is possible to hit (for a righty) when your left wrist is hurt.

MARDY PLAYED LAST NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, in WTT.

In singles, he beat Mark Knowles 5-2, in mens doubles he lost, teaming with Ryan Newport (whoever that is) and in Mixed dubs he teamed with STEFFI  and they won!

His team lost though.
