Amazing how many people are treating this as a day off. I'm looking forward to the all-Argentine affair in particular - sometimes you think people are exaggerating when they say all claycourters rally endlessly from the baseline, but this could be one match where that theory is proved correct. LOL, I wonder what the French public will make of it all... there's a superb grunting contest in prospect as well.

Puerta actually has strokes that could hurt Federer and Nadal.

Robredo will just roll over and be the gimp for either Federer or Nadal.

Puerta won't necessarily win, but he won't be a gimp like Robredo.

If Davydenko plays like he has been I don't see Robredo getting close, but the thing is can he play like that, if Robredo wins he'll have deserved it and I just hope Davy can break down Robredo, though if Robredo makes the final, they might as well give the trophy to winner of the Thursday match.

Yeah I think you´re not objective enough when it comes to Robredo, looks like he will only will win if Davydenko has a bad day and imo that assumption is way far from being true
look at Davydenko's recent record on clay... it can only be rivalled by a very select bunch: Federer, Nadal, Ferrer, Gasquet, Gaudio, Coria...

Action Jackson
06-01-2005, 11:06 AM
That´s the way Kolya is, but I´m also sure you´ve also witnessed matches this season where his winners/ue ratio was sth near zero

The old PMK wins when you want him to lose and lose when you want to him to win, but he did the right thing against the weasel.

Action Jackson

Hope they don´t, would be a bad thing for Puerta

The Door is a lot fitter than he used to be and is over his bulimia problems.

Deivid23
06-01-2005, 11:07 AM
If Davydenko plays like he has been I don't see Robredo getting close, but the thing is can he play like that, if Robredo wins he'll have deserved it and I just hope Davy can break down Robredo, though if Robredo makes the final, they might as well give the trophy to winner of the Thursday match.

If Davydenko plays like he did against Ferrero in Hamburg always he would have a good chance at being number 1 on clay, that can be said for a lot of players also but Kolya´s not the most consistent player around and that´s clear enough I think.

Yes he´s, but his rival is Cañas. It would be a huge surprise for me if Mariano pulls this out in 5 sets (anyway I´d love to be wrong)

We know the PMK is not consistent, but I thought he'd already be in Halle by now and he has to go in very confident in this match and Robredo well it won't be a walk in the park for the PMK, but since I am going for him to win, that means the hooking and whining Robredo will win.
