They are saying that the courts have been covered, and although its not official yet its unlikely there will be any more action today. No schedule out yet for tomorrow

One good thing about ESPN tape delay of the match one can see the replay of that point that caused all the disturbance, if they show that 'shot replay' or whatever its called .............

BYE everyone have a good evening...............

ESPNdeportes is not using the shot replay at RG, although they did at the Masters' Series. Is any other ESPN channel using it? Jimmy Arias did say the ball was out because he could see it on the computer, but the viewers would not see it.

but the umpire kept maintaining that you have to stop play in play but
grosjean contiuned the point, but it really really was out well out

Well, the ball problema is looong gone. It is going to rain tonite and tomorrow morning, hopefully not for the whole day.

I think that Rafa took the boooing personally bc it looked like it. He came back really strong on the 3rd set, he does react well under pressure.

Well the umpire might be right now that there is a discussion, but from start obviosly the umpire was very wrong making a bad call, so i think there is no excuse.... its not relevant anymore but this will make noise to both players now is a mind game.... Can they change umpires? that could help to build confidence...

connectolove
05-29-2005, 07:26 PM
Yes, changing the umpire would be a smart call.

delsa
05-29-2005, 08:55 PM
Well' we have to try to put ourselves in everyone's place here and not judge them too fast: first the umpire made two errors in a row and didn't overruled when the BP ball was clearly out although it was not called out. But after that Grosjean still played the ball so he couldn't ask the point to be given to him. In the best scenario for him the point should have been replayed. And the ref should have at least moved his big fat ass to look for the mark: that's what made everyone angry... Then the crowd doesn't saw the replay on Tv and everything like we could so they just thought there was an injustice against Grosjean so they began their bronca of 15 minutes to put pressure on the ref and make him change his decision that they believed was unfair or at least make him go see the mark. And Grosjean used the crowd telling them very lately to stay quiet i think to put pressure on the ref (very understandable if he really thought he was beeing treated unfairly...) and i also believe the smart arse was gaining time to recover from the tiredness of the long rallies...The crowd (except at the beginning when it was a bit confuse...) didn't boo Rafa but the umpire each time he announced the score and the lines judges too...
The whole thing is so complicated but that's the latin crowds: very passionate, temperamental, capricious...luv'em
