Eek, what has happened to Novak's game at the moment? First it takes five sets to see off that titch Olivier Rochus at the AO, now comes a loss to The Big-Lipped One here in Milan.

How irritating must it be to lose to your doubles partner, a man with less singles experience than you? It's the equivalent of Mirnyi losing to Bhupathi or even worse, Federer somehow losing to Mirnyi somewhere (oh wait, that actually happened didn't it?).

Amazing to think that he's only won one title, though at least it was his home one in Casablanca.

How times change - just over a year ago he was in the world's top 30, beating Kiefer, Santoro and Ferrero to get into the quarters in TMS Paris, while El Aynaoui was a struggling journeyman ranked around the 50 mark.

Now the roles have reversed, I think it's interesting that Arazi has now evidently borrowed the shaven-headed look sported by El Aynaoui back then, while the older Moroccan has decided to take up the hair route and sprout curly dreadlocks.

It seems that Moroccan tennis possesses a Sampson-like quality where hair equals success.
