i was at the french open yesterday and watched mirnyi vs acasuso on court 10. to me , chucho was very impressive and I give him as a favourite against roddick.

Chucho is a kind of pet name for "Jesús" but since Acasuso's first name is not Jesús but José (which pet name is "Pepe") then I have no clue about why he is called "Chucho". Perhaps his complete name is José de Jesús Acasuso?.

Hmmmm

The foreigner that I am, I just assumed Chucho was pronounced "Suso", which is a short part of his surname

Chucho is just a nickname for him. Don't know why, but they just call him like that.
And it's pronounced as it looks, chucho... with the ch as in watCH.

I am not sure about this match, honestly. Acasuso can play well one match and the next match he can blow it easily. Like for example the one against Marat in Barcelona. He played that match quite well (apart from Marat oafing) and then the next match he absolutely blew it against a no-one.
So I'm not quite sure about this one really.

the "CH" is probably part of the typical Argentine "Che"?

never mind, i just want to see feathers flying Jose. ;)

It's Roddick's time to shine on red clay in Paris! :tennis: :D That said I think this will be a very tough match and Andy will need 4 sets to win. And I'm counting on Roddick to win atleast 1 tiebreak in this match.

Jose might be good on the stuff but upstairs he's a mental midget :fiery:

when it comes to crunch he'll bottle it :(

there's only mental midgets left in his 1/8th.
Only Canas is left in Duckboy's 1/4 who's as strong in the head.

Chucho...like Acasuso...can you hear it? It's like calling Andy, ARod. It doesn't mean anything it's just sort of a play on his name.

Anyways, sides Chucho. I predict the score to be 7-6(20), 6-7(34), 6-7(12), 7-6(12), 7-6(20). Oh and the match will only last 120minutes, it will all be aces and unforced errors on the returns except for 5 points which will consist of return winners. It will be awesome!
