And saved 4 match points:yeah:! What a crazy match:eek:!
Janko was leading by 2 breaks, 4-1 in the 5th set, when Hrbaty came back, led 5-4 and 0-40 on Tipsarevic's serve, but Janko came back and won 8-6:worship:!

Horrible result for Dominik. Janko has been having bad scores throughout the clay season and then he takes out Hrbaty. Oh well.

Holy shit, that's really a surprise.
Sure is Hrbaty not a very good claycourter, but he did well in Rome and Tipsarevic was not good on this surface and at this level in the past.

okay that makes more sense, I wasn't paying attention much then, I thought it was over.

at the top he said at 5-6 and I know he didn't face any then.

I was almost closing my eyes and not wanting to look at the SB anymore when he lost that 4-1 lead in the 5th.

he's reached the final of Monte Carlo and the semifinal of Roland Garros... I'd say he's pretty good on clay. it's not his favorite surface but he's good on it.

That's true, he is not complete rubbish of course, I should have better said he did nothing special on this surface during the last years. But he seemed to enjoy a better year on clay again this season. Since his Monte Carlo final in 2000 he could hardly string two or three wins on clay together, with the expection maybe being the Mickey Mouse event in Casablanca.

Clay and Dominik has become a very interesting thing. I mean it is quite obvious his favorite surface has moved from clay to hard courts, but I mean he has experience from his youth and professional career where he should always feel at least somewhat at home on the dirt. Tipsarevic is a nice player and Dominik had an ultra close match with him in Melbourne, but I dunno, this loss is just a bit silly.

Maybe there is something about Janko's game that Hrbaty doesnt like, although from seeing them play I really dont see what it could be. At the AO Hrbaty played so bad against him, even though he was in good form for the rest of his matches, and now here too.
During this clay season Hrbaty only had losses to players like Ferrer, Nadal and Gasquet, and beat all the players he should have beaten.
I'm still in a state of utter disgust about this loss.

because he moved on hardcourts (especially indoor) since that time. he's rarely training on claycourt the last years.
