For a moment, I thought someone was ripping me off ;)

Good thread though.

Good thread in GM after a long long time!

At least they didn't call Nikolay "in-form." They use that word to describe every player out there.

yay, let's keep this thread up to date each week! :)

05-18-2005, 08:36 PM
And this had to be the one week where the curse didn't work.

Hopefully Félix will kick his ass

Side note - They've changed the Head 2 Head pic again. Different one for Nadal.

I've got no problems keeping this thread up to date, i'll keep updating my first post with the one to watch current scores for that week. It could give us some interesting statistics.

Good idea for a thread, Juanqui Lover :yeah:

I'm glad you all like the idea. Davydenko just wiped away Mantilla in straight sets, 6-3 7-5. He will now play Acasuso in the Semi Finals. Trust the curse not to work the week we make the thread. Plenty more chances for it to work though. I really pity next week's one to watch, because who wants to lose early at RG.

As you would all know, Davydenko won again defeating Acasuso 6-4 6-2, he now plays Jurgen Melzer in the final. Trust the one to watch to win the tournament when we start this thread.

Damn, the curse didn't happen this week, Davydenko beat Melzer in the final. Still, plenty more opportunities!

I cant wait until tomorrow to see who the next one is, I'm actually hoping it's someone who has little chance so the curse can work again and add a bit of excitement to this thread once they fail lol.

We now have a new "One To Watch." The unlucky cursed player during the week of Roland Garros is Mariano Puerta. It should have been a player who's crap on clay and the curse could effect them and they'd lose first round and let a decent claycourt player get far into the tournament. Poor Mariano. I think it's relatively safe to say that this time the cursed won't come out the victor, but I hope he gets far in the tournament. The spotlights on you Mariano

This weeks one to watch Mariano Puerta won his first round match. Damn, not one loss yet, I like Puerta, but can he hurry up and lose to create some excitement!!!

Well, I guess the curse isn't working so far since we started keeping an eye on it ;)

the curse has been broken :)

06-05-2005, 02:40 AM
As soon as we created this thread they start winning. I had completely forgot that Puerta was this weeks one to watch. Good job ATP on that one.

06-05-2005, 03:29 AM
Why couldn't Juanqui have been the one to break the curse?

Could I please have some help: I can't find the scores for the puerta-davydenko match so could someone please post them here. And I have noticed a trend. In the past two weeks the one to watch has beated Acasuso. Just a little something we can watch over the coming weeks

06-05-2005, 05:16 PM
