Universe man inspired me by saying that Marat hadn't won a single title in 2003.

So who do YOU think is the greatest player to have won a title while being injured?

The player is not a human being if he is able to win with severe injuries.:retard:

Maybe someone can help me here.....
I think Sampras won Wimbledon being injured (in his back, I think....). I`m not sure, I think it was his last Wimbledon title..... But I don´t know...... :awww:

Agassi almost didn't play RG1999 because of shoulder pain. Because that gives me an excuse to vote for Andre, I'll go with that. ;)

yes lau, that's right, he won wimbledon one year with a pretty bad injury. I honestly forget if it was his back or his shoulder but I remember seeing it on one of the biography specials they did on him last year.

what about sickness? Didn't Agassi offer to play the Lipton final an hour later to help Pete recover from a stomach bug?

Does Nadal winning at Roma count? Looking at the pictures of his hand that have come out recently it was an amazing effort.

He didnt win the title but Roddick beating Chang at the French Open in 2001 was one of the most incredible efforts Ive seen. He had never played a 5 set match, was cramping like mad in the 5th set and just unleashed off every ball he could and ended up winning the match. Thats when I started liking A-Rod, but he doesn\'t show the same passion anymore

hmmm don't know really...

but what do you consider an injury... sometimes blisters are bad enough to make a player stop playing in a match so.. hmm yeah... :)

he's not the greatest, but Michael Chang winning over Lendl in the 4th round at RG in 1989, with cramps. remember the underhanded serve? went on to win the title over Edberg.

I mainly meant how a player could win a title in a certain year when actually being away from the tour for most of it;) The thread did take an interesting turn and Mark P comes to mind. He won Memphis when coming back from a long injury break and went back to being injured just days after winning that title.

Andre lost that final. :banghead: ;)

It was a kind gesture on Andre's part, though. :yeah:

Since Agassi is the greatest player on your list, then he is the only possibility.
