This year's Masters Series winners so far...

We are more than halfway through the Masters series tournaments. I find it amazing that the five Masters series titles so far have been split between only two people.

Federer - Indian Wells, Miami & Hamburg

Nadal - Monte Carlo, Rome

This has to be the first time it's happened!

At the rate things are going, perhaps only 3 people might win Masters series tournaments this year, with Federer & Nadal(?) being favourites on the summer hard courts, and Safin & Federer indoors.

For the summer hard courts, I think we have to give some consideration to Roddick, Agassi, and Hewitt as well. I don't know about Nadal. Can he perform well on fast hard courts? We'll see.

Hewitt, Agassi and Roddick are also strong contenders for those titles, especially Montreal and Cincinnati. I guess it's between them, Federer, Safin and Nadal. Of course some argentines, spaniards, frenchmen, croats, russians and Henman can do some damage there, but we'll have to see. That's basically everyone on tour.

I hope Federer defends his Canada AMS title. He already matched last year's 3 AMS titles but more wouldn't hurt.
