After Haas' match today in Munich I'm confident Kiefer will kick his ass here. But more than a 2nd round is not possible I fear.

Again a match-up against another German, what the fuck is that? :banghead: :banghead:
But he really needs to beat Haas now!

Okay, so let him reach the 2nd round, and then Coria or Gonzalez are already waiting :cuckoo: :fiery:

Gonzalez could have one of "his days", but Coria is normally better and more consistently than Gonzo who can hit around quite wildly from time to time making life hard for himself.

That's tough for Kiwi

Hopefully he will get a better draw in Hamburg to avoid the top people at least in the first TWO rounds!

Try hard Kiwi!!!!!!!!! :clap2:

Tough draw for Kiwi :(

They seem to always put him up against fellow Germans in early rounds this year.

That sucks, that really sucks :fiery:

Perhaps they wanna be sure that at least one German will reach the 2nd round

Maybe Tommy will be tired after playing Houston, Munich and now Rome. I imagine they will play Tuesday since I'm sure Tommy asked for an extra days rest.

Haas must be pissed off now

Well done, just 5 steps to go. ;)

And Kühnen should give him some matches now Düsseldorf.

At the moment Kiefer and Haas should be the best team for Düsseldorf.

There's quite a gap between them and Schüttler/Mayer/everybody else at the moment.

Hell of a score

I hate to say it but I wasn't even positive that he would get through but then to get through with that score :bigclap:

Now on to Guille!! Let him prove me wrong again :D

quote Kiwi:

"I'm very content. It's always strange to play against a fellow German. But this win might be very good for my confidence."

(on the fact that he will go as big outsider into the match against claycourt specialist Coria):
"I don't mind. At least, after such a match, you know where your current level is at. (...) More important to me would be, playing good at home [in Hamburg]."

WOW, couldn't believe the score when I saw it!!! Great Job Kiwi. This win should make him really confident:) I think he has a chance against Coria!!! Good Luck :)

just too bad that Kiwi has to play a top claycourt specialist so early again...

but after this match, I am much more confident, too, again and maybe he does something that Coria does not like tomorrow *dream* ;)

There's no way that I can be up at 4 AM to follow Kiwi's match *note to self: time to alter sleeping habits in time for RG ;) * so I will cheer now:

Go Kiwi!!!! I hope he believes in himself out there!!!

i watched some of the match (in the ad breaks on andys match) and i felt really sorry for kiwi (as much as i hate him for destroying tommy, and love guille) he just looked like he couldn't hold himself together out there, he took a fall in the 2nd game i don't know if that affected him or not but he just didn't seem to be the same player than beat tommy. however that being said guille did appear to be back to his best and i think even if he had played the way he playe dagainst tommy he could have struggled.
i hope its not an injury or anything. as i said only saw bits of the match in the ad breaks but he just didn't seem himself.

Yeah okay, lets say it was an expected loss. I would have loved him to make it at least 3 & 3, but under normal circumstances Coria would probably win 19 of 20 matches on clay.

@Éowyn
Doesn't suprise me that Kiwi seemed to have no clue. That's how the scoreline looks and Coria is mega top on this surface when playing good. However, I don't think there was an injury involved. In the update on his homepage he is saying that he is glad that he is healthy again and that the leg was well.

I've never seen before that he won only 44% of his first serves?!

Kiwi

Though I'm not surprised...I wish the scoreline had been tighter.

Eowyn, I like Guille too...just not as much as Kiwi ;) .
