Vamos Mariano

It got a little scary for awhile but thankfully Zabaleta found his game when it really mattered. And as usual, Henman fell away at the key moments.

Tim is going to lose alot of points this claycourt season, this is just the beginning. I can even see him dropping to around #10 or below in the rankings too, last year is too dificult for him to back up.

WOW, I felt to go to school and Tim was about to win the second already, so I gave it for granted that Mariano was going to lose. But so awesome that he didn't! Well done Mariano

Mariano keep his good record up against Henman on clay and I felt calm during this match like he was never going to lose it all. Mariano has to play Santoro next which will be different altogether.

yeah, Santoro is very tricky. He must be very calmed tomorrow...

The match against Santoro will be grueling. I suppose it's best that I don't have coverage.

Tim Should play in Barcelona or Munich :fiery:
instead he wont come back until the Italian open, where another 1st round loss will await him :o

They have only played once and it was on grass.

Santoro struggled to beat the Toad, but Zabaleta has a big chance for the 3rd round.

Do you think it would actually help him to play Barcelona? Then again there'll be plenty of tough competition there and he does have quite a few points to defend.

He won't defend those points.

yeah, after losing to federer in miami... 1 week off, losing 1st round in MC followed by 2 weeks off...
so 1 clay match in a month going into rome, he'd probably lose early there.

I actually thought Federer should do that if he lost early here, but that doesn't look likely. Conditions should be warmer in Barcelona, but the court will be slower there.

If he loses in Rome, then he has to do well in Hamburg, but that is much slower where Rome is a lot quicker. At least he is there playing these tournaments unlike some.

Tim's always played these clay TMS events and used to play munich, barcelona (once), Dusseldorf and Estoril..
no more it seems :(

He isn't playing for 2 weeks before Rome? He could always play Estoril or Munich, it might be a good idea.

Then again I am just happy Mariano won as one I like him and two he made me some money.

2. It has character
3. It says something
4. The subject looks happy...
5. It says... I just beat Tim Henman again... TIM you are mine!

Mariano last played Santoro in 2001 on grass. Mariano to date still has not won an official ATP match on grass - so that really doesn't come into factor.
(he has won an exhibition against James Blake and a Doubles Wimbledon match with Chela on grass)

Santoro is a tricky little {fill in the gap} but has imho mellowed over the years... Mariano, has not.... so I am going to say Mariano in 3.

Well this is very true as well, you need to smell the air where Mariano won a title and Båstad is better than Bogota for air quality.

Is Båstad mountainous? Small town? Does everyone ride their bike to work? I can't even tell if I'm joking or not.

I like to smell Sydney CBD air. *coughs on exhaust fumes*

Exactly... and as soon as we think they finally understand the coding.... we get to change it :hatoff: - because we can :)

but then they get (or think they get) control of the remote control... so that's enough... surely....
