yeah old man at his best!!!:yeah:

he has beaten first seeded davydenko, koubek and 2004 champion verdasco to reach the semis in valencia! he shows that he is still one of the best clay court players.

watch out for him in RG!

Good stuff Albert, though he has to take out Ferrer to make the final later today. I'd like to see Costa have some more success.

the only spaniard i come close to disliking beat one of my top favourites. Great for Albert, but i really would have rathered Verdasco. this is shaping up to be a crappy tourney-i don't think a spaniard will end up winning now.:(

Good go Costa. :yeah:

Go win the tournament now. You need it for the morale and, well, you deserve it. ;)

well the only non Spaniard left is Andreev and he lives in Valencia anyway. I think it's great for Albert. I'm sad for Nando cos he's also one of my faves...but it's also great to see Albert doing well again. He's a great claycourter...I'll never forget RG 2003 when he played all those 5 setters. He's a nice guy too...now he plays Ferrer, another of my faves..should be a good match, may the best man win! :)

He's a nice guy too...
Thats why he's the only spaniard that i'm close to disliking, i hated him for a day because he wouldn't give me his autograph, then i asked him again the day after for it and he was nice, but he's a sore loser. I can't help but hold that against him.

RG 2002 was great for Costa as I love surprise winners and nobody expected him to do it when he was up there with the best players on clay in the late 90s and 2000, but I thought his chance was gone, fortunately it hadn't.

I hope he isn't too tired to face the froggie Ferrer.

Wonder how much we'll see of Albert at this year's RG, would be so fantastic to see and older player offer a challenge-I wanna see Costa-Federer on clay :D

oh come on, players must get stopped by so many young teens you cant expect him to sign an autograph for everyone!

of course, otherwise they wouldnt be human! i mean if you were a player, sometimes you are going to get annoyed by people talking to you about random crap and autographs

I like Albert Costa who is born the same year as me. I would like him to win another title, hopefully it will be here.

yes i think that would be a great match because albert can still compete with the big guys on clay.

 poor juanqui lover i can understand why you are angry about this tournament. but i must say that i've seen many players who don't give autographs after a loss and i don't think you can judge if a player is nice or not just because he doesn't give an autograph to everyone.

until verdasco sorts himself in the mental side of the game he will never be a factor for the big boys of tennis

well done costa

I understand this, then again asking after they have lost a match is probably not the best thing to do.

I heard that verdasco was sick yesterday and had a fever- so maybe that had an effect on the way he played. but still...congrats to costa.

Ferrer, the Frog to Soderling's Toad. They should go into business together and open up a pub.

This run is a surprise, he has done absolutely nothing for ages. Fernando shouldnt have let it slip away like that though. It would be good for Costa to have one more good clay season before he retires.

Ferrer, the Frog to Soderling's Toad. They should go into business together and open up a pub.

The Toad's father is a lawyer, so that could help him. Albert made the semis here which is good and hopefully he can not do stupid things like lose to Malisse when he had him beaten at RG.

He needs good tournaments in Monte Carlo and Barca, Rome is coming up and he has those SF points to defend. Corretja, Federer, Horna, Novak... if only he could be guaranteed to beat that kind of quality all in a row this year, even if best mate Alex is way past his personal best.

I can see a good peformance in one of those tournaments. I just want Albert to have a couple of more good runs before he finishes up.
