How well will Andre do at the Clay Masters?

Andre Agassi will play Rome and Hamburg. What do you expect him to do at each event?

Well I think, he's on a good series, no injury, and I'm sure he's willing to show what he's worth on clay after the RG sinking of 2004...

maybe winning three matches in row for his best result
but I not have too high trust in him on clay at the current

He's not going to hang with 20 something year old Spaniards, Argentinians, but he could get two, three wins in each event perhaps even a solid QF showing. Agassi has shown that he's able to change surfaces very quickly with very little practice, as shown in his Australian Open performances with little tuneups, and his Wimbledon showings with no leadup grass event etc.

Not familiar with Clay Masters. I assume it's a series of events.

He'll finish top 20.

I have absolutely no sense of how he will do this year.

Last year's abyssmal clay results, and his loss to Ferrer in the first round of Rome 2003 would suggest that he is going to have trouble.

But Rome 2002 was only three years ago, and he was brilliant there. And he made the RG quarterfinals in 2002 and 2003 and won the US Clay Court Championships (yes I know in what regard some people hold that tournament  ;) ).

Movement tends to be an issue for Andre on clay, since there is more defensive "grinding" involved and it's harder for him to dictate play. But I think he moved very well in Miami this year.

I think it will be tough, but he is still capable of making a good run.

If he gets a reasonable draw at both (personally I wouldn't be that sure he'll play Hamburg), then he should do well enough to overtake Coria in the rankings going into RG.

nothing, because no does nothing in hard, less in clay

He should at least go to the 1/4 or maybe further but I don't think he will win

Not well I'm afraid. He seems to play only well on the hardcourts. I just hope he manages to win one ATP title before he retires. He still plays well but only won one title last year.

probably Qf or Sf.

I think he goes out early in Rome (even with the rrealtively "fast" clay) and then does some damage in Hamburg. He is hittng the ball really well this year and has had the misfortune of playing Federer 3 times.

Is Andre playing Houston? That could help him get ready for Euro clay season.

Agassi won't play Hamburg.

This says he will. I hope he does. He puts Nadal at the top of the RG list. Andre also says he made a huge mistake by not playing more clay last year.

I dont see him doing well at the clay masters.

I dont see him doing extremely well, hes never been the best in clay, he was and has been good enough to win Rolland Garros, but there are too many players that are better than the aging champion on clay. However if he finds good rhythm and has a solid preparation I see him reaching the round of 16 at least, possibly a solid qf or two. He's still a contender at any tournie he enters!

I wonder if Andre will say to the crowd in Hamburg after a bad performance there again. "What are you going to do, stab me".

If he is healthy and not injured like last year I'd expect him to make the QF or maybe the SF.

I remember that was Bruguera in 95 when he came out with that comment.

He will only play at Rome and I doubt whether he'll play Hamburg. If he plays both, it'll be average performances.

Probably not very good but then again I didnt expect Andre to play as well as he has on the faster courts.

Agassi is still one of the best players in the world on faster surfaces, but this is not the case when it comes to claycourt tennis.

He has the heart of a champion.
