I agree, Gael is a great player and i think he can become one of the most succesfull frenchie ever :) :) Plus, he seems a really cool and nice guy:yeah: :) He is my favourite french player :)

richard gasquet

I would say Gasquet and Mathieu have the best chance beeing as clay is their favorite surface. Monfils seems to be just another big server and we all know that isn't enough to win RG.

I'd go for Monfils. Just leave him some years to get some more experience. Don't forget he's won the junior title last year. He's got the talent, the motivation, and that special quality that nothing scares him! Just hope he'll be regular in his progression!

I also voted for Monfils. I love his way of playing, and he can become really good one day! :yeah:

Sorry Frenchies, but I don't see any of the aforementioned players win Roland Garros!

I only see Monfils... Although I don't really believe in him, nobody else among French players would be able to carry out such an exploit.

Hey, no need to say you're sorry. You're only expressing your opinion, which is your right. :)

I agree with that :)

most of them will join their illustrious compratriots in the French journeymen club.

Seb is going that way too :o

Escude on clay :rolls: even Arthurs has more of a clay game :tape:

The wounds of last year's 3rd round match against Misha still fresh, eh TBE?

It can only be Monfils or ball-basher Mathieu, the others have much more style and variety but not the sort of power and consistency needed to win here. It's a pity for the French that the Slam they host seems inimical to the games of their own players; I once thought Grosjean was right up there as a contender for the title with his good showings in 01 and 02, but a man who is dumped out in straight sets by Vicente and Starace in the second round is not a future RG champion. You could tell by the way the crowd were backing Henman last year that they wished their own swashbucklers like Llodra and Santoro could have had similar success (but then Henman was the one who denied Llodra that success).

I can't blame you... I'm not optimistic neither :awww:

Maybe time to update this poll after such achievements from Richard Gasquet. By the way his initials are: RG...

True... but then by that logic, I'm likin' Robby Ginepri's odds in Paris.

Let's wait for the rest of the clay season... but I only have to say: Richard and Gael got the same age and, for the game that he play, I only see RG win RG in the future.

This should be multiple choice.

I picked Gasquet because I think he has the best chance, but Monfils and Mathieu could also win it.

Monfils. Give him about four or five years.
He could possibly be Frances best player in years to come, but his game is not well suited to clay.

Gasquet has the better game on clay, so I picked him.

Monfils :inlove: it may take him a year or two but he's gonna win it. ;)

Gasquet or Monfils... they have time on their side ;)

Mathieu is good, but too much of a headcase, IMO.
