Your photos are just fine and you know it. You only posted that to make me confess to this forum that I am unorganized and a little bit lazy. I have over 400 photos of JMG that I haven't put up yet, spread out onto two different computers, and I need to get to work on those one of these days. I hate watermarking, it takes me forever, but I have to do it since that jerk tried to sell the tattoo pics on Ebay. Argggghhh.

I met this professional photog from Germany at IW, he was taking some pics of JMG (stupid me, should have asked for them). When I told him I ran a site about JMG, the photog guy called me by name and said he knew my site. He said it was 'one of the better fan-run tennis sites on the internet' but it needed more pictures! I think I'll have to buy more space to get them all up on the site.

lol he had his hair combed all nicely for that match. it was odd... it was combed to the side like he was going somewhere nice. i only got to watch him for about 30 min. before he retired. :sad: no autographs either. :sad:

no...its a case of having 4 exams in that week...its not fair its my second fav british tournie to wimbie *sobs* :sobbing: so he better play at queens ;)

He's going to try to get into Queens (might be tough with the ranking and all), but he's also signed up for Liverpool that week. He might play Surbiton as well, but I don't think he's decided for sure yet. I seriously think he sits down with Chuck every Sunday night and looks at the entry forms that are due the next day and makes his decision at that moment. Sucks to have to do this, but that's what happens when you fall out of the Top 100.

oooh please ask him to play surbition..im going there for the first time this year :D:D and queens too if ya can :lol: if he plays in quallies, let me know and i'll get down there to see him :D

For one thing, it helps people with slow dial up connections (like me). Another thing, it ensures that the picture will always be here, in case the links for the photo at the host site change.

okay i'm trying to you guys as my last hope!
i don't know how long everyone has been suporting jmg or how many pics they have but i am actually looking for a pic of jmg and anna kournikova it was taken on court (can't remember the tourny) but was a big group of players and jan-mike was standing directly next to anna on her left.
i'm pretty sure it was 2000, maybe 2001, i have the pics of them together in the race car from 2003 but can't find these ones! i know it exists coz i used to have it but i lost half my anna folder recently. so if anyone has it please let me know :)

Yes, he was taking pics of JMG near me and I went to chat with him. He asked me if I was the owner of Janmiketennis.com and complimented me on the site (it was still up back then). He had a photo of JMG that he wanted signed, so I called JMG over when he finished practicing. He seemed like a nice guy in that brief encounter.

You know, when you get to the site, you can scroll all the way to the bottom of the page, click on the American flag and it will translate to English. You're right, there are MANY excellent photos on that site.

Leave it to me to miss going where I need to go on a site!

Well, I've been lucky (I had a photo credential for Indian Wells in 2004). I've been to a number of tournaments since 2002 and I seem to meet someone new at each one (players, agents, tournament directors, chair umpires, photographers, racquet stringers, whatever). One of the benefits of being a driver, when you are trapped in a car with someone, its usually more interesting to have a conversation then to sit there in silence. :D

Yes I have noticed that it seems to be hard for anyone to be silent in a car! But it is great all the people you met no wonder you know so much about tennis and tennis players :)

I am the photographer of the Togon page. Yes, Fiona we talked in Indian Wells about your homepage and I said that there should be more pictures on it. I regret that you closed the page. I liked it very much. I have been a member of JMG's fan club in the past and I am happy that I can combine my hobby tennis with my profession which is first of all sports writing and then in addition taking pics. In the 90es I handled an Edberg Fan Club for a couple of years. And I have written and published the first and only book on Stefan Edberg.

Unfortunately tennis is not that popular in Germany nowadays as in the times of Becker, Graf or even Stich. There are not so much jobs for writing articles on tennis.

So I decided to create the homepage. I don't know if you understand that I am selling those pics on a CD. The CD with all those JMG-pics is available for just 20 Dollars. So if anybody is interested in it ...

Fiona, you said in IW that you have lots of pics. Maybe we can exchange pics if you like.

Thanks, I hadn't seen the WTT photo (and I've been looking everywhere for them). The other three photos you posted are new, the large one is copyright Tom Cullis (May 2008), the two smaller ones were taken by Jason Keefer (Feb 2008). :)

Then a pro-set of doubles was played - Gambill didn't take part. He did play singles with Gimelstob afterwards though. I don't remember the score or even who won because the atmosphere was so fun that the winner was completely irrelevant. Gimelstob and Gambill were talking, joking, with the audience and with each other - and of course showing off some very nice tennis. Very enjoyable. :)

Towards the end of the set they played (I believe it went to a tiebreaker) the sky looked sure to rain. Afterwards it did rain a bit, and it was raining lightly when Gimelstob helped run a small, charity-based auction. Then it was announced that the next doubles set would be played at an indoor sports club about 5 minutes away. By this point, after the rain, only the true, loyal tennis fans remained :p The few of us made our way to the same courts where many of us play tennis ourselves, and sat on the ground or in chairs next to the middle of three courts and watched JMG and Roshan take on Gimelstob and Nathan Healey. Again - the score was so irrelevant that I've completely forgotten it :lol: I think Gimelstob and Healey won though. :scratch: Anyway, inside it was nearly impossible to take pictures...

Overall the whole day was very fun and there was a lot of nice tennis watched. :)

Hope you enjoyed reading and seeing my pictures! I know this isn't exactly an active part of MTF and I know I probably spent way too much time on this (resizing, saving, uploading, posting all the pics :lol:) but I enjoy this kind of thing, and even if just one person reads this I won't mind. :p
