Tonight in the Heineken Cup there looks like some value in the Biarrtiz v Munster game.....

I'm taking Biarritz to cover the -8.5 spread at home against the Irish outfit who will be missing two key players in cullen and playmaker O'Gara

Further the french team's form in the last month has been superb both domestically and in europe and this was confirmed with a 30+ demolishion job of one of the cup favourites stade de francais last week. Looke for the talented half back Yachvili to run the show with his darting runs. He is one of the most dangerous players inside the oppositions 22m line. I like the look of all the french teams, with toulose and stade de francais hammering their resepective opposition last night, look for a clean sweep tonight for all french team

Saturday afternoon, two games i like:

Wallabies to cover -28.5 v Samoa, expect a cricket score out at the olympic stadium this afternoon

NZ Maoris to cover +4.5 v Lions - Look at the Maori team, they would be any international team at the moment and all NZ selectors will be at the game, big incentive for a big performance by the so called fringe players

Taking South Africa to cover -9.5 against the frog eaters later today

France not really fielding a strong team, they got one eye on the Australasia tour coupled with the fact that this is the end of season for these players. History shows they never give a toss about the matches against the southern hemisphere teams end of their season

The lions have been poor all tour thus far, and I expect this to continue against a prime all blacks team.

Ok, I'm playing the following today

Lions to cover -47.5 against Manawatu

Manawatu are a second division side made up of semi professionals. Lions players (esp the Welsh) have been told they still have a shot at playing in this weekend's test against the All Blacks. Fine weather in Pamerston North, so can't see anything but a big Lions victory, 50+ IMO

good luck

Can't be bothered starting a new thread for this one game, but playing the big NPC game: Canterbury v Auckland

This game decides the Ranfurly Shield for the top team in the competition before the semi finals. Both have made it, but with a saders win, it clinched home finals throughout the finals. And based on the teams named, it clear saders are taking this much more seriously as they have included gun fly half Daniel Carter in the team, his first start since breaking his leg. On the other side, although the Blues have named their All Blacks in their squad, Muliaina and Mealamu are starting from the bench with Collins and Howlett the only AB's starting. Rockocko is still injured and won't play.

Canterbury to cover -2.5 v Auckland - $1.90 (strong play)

Cardiff to cover -2.5 v Perpignan - $1.90

Keep fading the french teams, especially Perpignan who incredibly have not won an away fixture against a non Italian side since 1998. Also for the reasons why I faded Castres, they have not played for a while due to the winter break in the French league.

Although it's a must win for both sides, got to side with the home team against a team that does not travel well.

If you don't know where to find info for this competition, how is it that you like Sale?

For general rugby info - www.planetrugby.com is a good start. I usually go through online newspapers, respective sites of the teams I choose to back, fade etc

I'm not so sure on Sale on face value - from memory their record in Newcastle has been shocking and they are a team on the slide, severely depleted with injuries. Week in week out their prices have been inflated because of the sole fact they are the current champions. However I'll have a closer look bit later.
