Congrats to Ferrer. Was an inexplicably bad day for Hrbaty, but when you have a chance like this you need to play a bit better, heh.

Which bank sponsors the ATM semifinals, out of interest?

It really is unbelievable that the X-Man's mouth has managed to land the Frog in a Masters Series semifinal. On hardcourt, no less! But it has to be said, great as Nalbandian, Ferrero and Hrbaty all are (and their career achievements will certainly never be matched by Ferrer), they all play a style of game that the Frog likes to counter with his speed and tenacity.

Hrbaty was awful, but props to Ferrer. I wouldn't call him lucky, he was fortunate against X-Man but that was Xavier's fault. He fought well against JCF and completely outplayed Hrbaty today. He'll be dumped out in the Semi's by Rafa though :p

Good for Ferrer. He had make use of his draw and faced opponents he can beat, especially Nalbandian who is 3-1 in head-to-head, I believe.

I first saw a three-second match conclusion clip of Ferrer at the U.S. Open last year. He was holding his racquet by the head and smashing the handle at the court :retard:

Obviously, he's been having a great, great week. He took out Nalbandian, Ferrero, and now Hrbaty.

Miami, the tourney of lucky players... how about a Dent/Ferrer final? ;)

Some players have ALL the luck thrown at them, players getting injured, sick or retiring and they STILL can't take advantage...

Very nice for Ferrer, he had a good time in Miami so far and this should be by far his best hardcourt result. And Hrbaty once again can't deliver on the big stage, you could really mean he had a solvalbe task in this match.

Davydenko/Hrbaty d. Clement/Llodra 3-6 7-5 6-3

Somehow I wish Dominik had played his best stuff in the singles match, tho.

Regardless of the doubles win, McEnroe doesn't look impressed.

McEnroe is the crowd pleaser.

Hrbaty was a big let down today UE wise. I don't follow him, but now I see he has his mental moments. Something to keep notice of in the future.

Malisse probably would have won against Ferrer but he could never beat Nalbandian, Ferrero and Hrbaty in a row let alone reach a TMS Semifinal. That's the difference between Ferrer and Malisse. No doubt Ferrer is the far better player.

I watched him in Indian Wells and he totally outplayed Grosjean, impressed me to say the least. I think he has new coaching; we talked to his coach courtside, and complimented him on how well his man was playing... I actually said "David is playing so well!" and he answered "For the moment."
It was a classic response! But Ferrer really showed something in that match. Sebastian was not at his best, but David took every advantage and hit some awsome winners. Maybe he's finally coming into his own.
Granted he wouldn't be here if it weren't for Malisse's meltdown.

Ferrer kicks ass. Who can say that Ferrer wouldn't have won that match, anyway? Malisse was a hothead, and it was 5-5, not 5-0 40-0....

Ferrer is one of the most underrated players on tour and especially here. I'm not surprised he is in the Semifinals. He beat players he was capable of on hardcourt. He's a very good player on hardcourt if he's on and also has some solid results indoors.

If you told me Hrbaty was ripe for the picking after not losing a set to Daveed in the previous two matches, I'd say you were insane.

Thanks for f'ing it up with your uncontrollable rallies, Dom. Be proud. Wear your flag on your shoulder.

I don't like it how ppl keep calling him "lucky"...it's starting to piss me off a bit. ok, so he was fortunate in the match against Malisse...but since then he's beaten established players like ferrero (who had just beaten Cañas), nalbandian and hrbaty...he's obviously playing well at the moment and he deserves to be there. i wouldn't call someone who's making their first tms semi at almost 23 "lucky"...i think he's worked hard to get there and i hope he does well...he's a really great guy....pity he has to play rafa now...what is it with spaniards facing each other this tournament? :banghead:

vamos david!

Hrbaty is such a choker. More often than not he feels the pressure and gets tight when he is the favourite in a big match. It would have been better for him had Ferrero won, he would not have been such a big favourite there. Same thing happened against Acasuso in Auckland, he was so tight he said he couldnt hit the ball properly. He really needs to see a sports psychologist

Congratulations to Ferrer for making the semi final and winning a match 6-2 6-3 is very lucky in my books. He got a break when Malisse got defaulted, but that's not Ferrer's fault. Some breaks are good and others aren't.

Domo that was not one of the better performances, everything was in his favour and couldn't take advantage of the situation.

Compared with Ferrer's 8 winners and 18 UEs.
Shocking performance :banghead:
