Even better - in the first round of Cincy 02 qualifying, Bubba Ginepri handed Rey Puentes a 0 and 0 beatdown, and look what happened to him in the main draw! That's just classic.
Actually, that one doesn't surprise me at all, considering that nowadays the much-improved Srichaphan is losing with 2 and 2 scorelines on clay. The bigger shock is that Calleri was having to play qualifying in the first place.

Nice to see my man making the list - in the winner's column, of course...
I remember that one. I was so sad for Christophe  I watched on TV but I think I went to Rosmalen the day after..
As pointed out by me several posts above yours. ;)

I know that Paradorn is horrible on clay and that he was especially that bad in that year (I saw him in Scheveningen... Trust me, that wasn't pretty), but I still expected him to get at least one game :o

Srichaphan had beaten Markus Hantschk  in a horrible match before that. His father was videotaping it all. I guess he knew how much needed improvement :tape:

So, discounting DC double bagels outside the World Group, in the top flight of professional tennis there have been nine double bagels:
2005 Indian Wells Hard Second Round Nicolas Kiefer Sargis Sargsian 6-0 6-0
2005 Auckland Hard First Round Vince Spadea David Sanchez 6-0 6-0
2004 Dubai Hard First Round Gregory Carraz Omar Bahrouzyan 6-0 6-0
2003 Stuttgart Clay Quarterfinals Guillermo Coria Mikhail Youzhny 6-0 6-0
2003 's-Hertogenbosch Grass Second Round Sjeng Schalken Christophe Rochus 6-0 6-0
Tokyo Hard First Round Jerome Golmard Joji Miyao 6-0 6-0
2002 Cincinnati TMS Hard First Round Lleyton Hewitt Robby Ginepri 6-0 6-0
2002 Bastad Clay Second Round Guillermo Canas Albert Montanes 6-0 6-0
2001 Shanghai Hard First Round Francisco Clavet Shan Jiang 6-0 6-0

I don't know why they keep giving him a wildcard into the event, he's never won more than one game a match as far as I know - who administered the thrashing in 2003? Henman beat him 1 and 0 the year before, Hrbaty gave him the breadstick/bagel this year, and ironically Carraz who is a poorer player than the above two gave him the double bagel.

Some (if not all) of those results were just abject exercises in cruelty. What kind of mental/physical condition Sargsian had to be in to lose 0 and 0 to Kiefer I cannot comprehend.
A good way to add to these results would be to list all double bagels in the top ecehlons at any point in a match, in addition to the out-and-out ones. Then we'd see such humiliating losses as Corretja's to Hewitt at the AO, Hyung-Taik Lee's loss to Agassi at the same event, Rusedski's to Verdasco at RG and Nalbandian's at a lesser tournament I can't recall the name of -he lost two sets 6-0 in any event. Many players in the upper ranks have a weakness for bagels.

I don't think he played Dubai in 2003 ;)

I watched it irl. The only time I saw a Belgian male tennisplayer playing irl and it was not a pleasant memory. :(
Christophe doesn't like playing on grass.

Awww, that sucks
I saw Christophe against Igor Andreev in Amersfoort last year, on clay. He gave Andreev a really tough time out there and could have won, hadn't it been for the high number of unforced errors. Andreev had much more power and was dictating, but made error after error in the beginning of the match. It was Andreev's birthday too ;)
