I follow this sport, nowhere near as much as the ATP but I do have my favourites, and not surprising, they are Swedish. Here are some pics of Niclas Larsson, Marcus Jonsson, and Peter Wikstrom :D Hopefully I'll be able to come in here and tell you guys that one of these blokes have won a title some time!
If you get the chance to go to a wheelie tournament, please do so. These guys are the sweetest. Niclas seems like the party boy, Marcus is so gorgeous in every way! Peter seems a little quieter, but I imagine he'd be the type, once you get to know him, he'd be a lot of fun! I think Peter is the only one that's married. I don't know if Niclas will ever settle down

This is Marcus Jonsson, off the court. If I were to use Australian slang to describe him, I'd say he is "a dead-set spunk!". It's basically 'handsome' ;) If we look weird at all... it was the end of the players party/awards night...alcohol had been consumed. I only had one wine. I swear! I was intoxicated the 2 years before, I had to do something to improve my image. :o :wavey:

They have demonstration matches at some tournaments (I've seen them at Sydney International) and during the Aus Open, during the last few days they hold the classic 8's, which is sort of like Kooyong/Masters Cup. Their tour basically follows the same route as the ATP, but at different times. The website with all the info is www.itfwheelchairtennis.com and Siobhan... Jerry told me. Marcus is 30yrs old  (Niclas turned 35 this year)
Thanks for posting Mia! :wavey:

A few of the guys (players) I've spoken to, said that some players just prefer to perform / go to more events during paralympic years. Some guys just can't afford it, and others just want to hang around in Europe. I haven't paid a great deal of attention to Wheelchair Tennis recently, but when I did look in the last few months, I didn't see Adi's name in any draws. Also, another of my favourites ;) Fabian Mazzei has been taking some time off the sport :)

Some photos from yesterday. Sydney International Wheelchair Tournament (I dunno it's complete/real name  )
Niclas Larsson is in blue, Peter Wikstrom is in red.
How fantastic is Nic's outfit + chair!!! Blue pants with blue and yellow stripes, blue and yellow shoes... a blue frame with yellow spokes  I love it!

I found this thread again via google...so I'll give it a little bump to see if it reappears.
EDIT: I don't know what happened there. I couldn't see this thread last week [nor could I see it earlier today] yet when I googled a wheelchair player I used to follow, I find it again . I'll transfer those new posts in the other thread, over here.
Anyway here's a nice photo.

Sweden has produced some very talented - and quite lovely - players. Stefan Olsson, Peter Wikstrom, and then we have my personal favourites, Marcus Jonsson:angel:, Niclas Larsson:devil: and Johan Andersson.
I do not feel that the sport is acknowledged enough. Although I'm sure I'll forget to follow it every now and then, this should be a good place to inform both other people, and myself. I'll start by posting a few photos...
Martin Källberg, Stefan Olsson, Niclas Larsson och
Peter Wikström flankerade av Stig Ericson och Tony Gustavsson.
This week in Sydney, Niclas made it to the semi-finals of the 2nd Draw. He and Michael Dobbie [AUS] were knocked out by Stuurmann/Scheffers [NED] in the first round of main draw doubles.
Johan Andersson lost in the Quads quarterfinals to David Wagner [who went on to make it to the final; which to my knowledge, was not completed]. He partnered Dorrie Timmermanns van hall [NED] to make it to the Quads Doubles semi-final.
Unfortunately the weather was not on our side this week. There were delays due to heat, and 2-3 days were re-scheduled due to rain. Today, three matches were completed in the morning, and at 3.30pm this evening it was decided that all remaining matches would be cancelled. It's one of those days where there's nothing but clouds, and constant rain. When my photos are uploaded, they will be here (http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v217/kristen4382/).

Another photo of Stefan, from Maikel Scheffers Website.
If Scheffers were in the ATP, he would be another 'Verdasco' to me :angel:
