Did you just watch her match? The way she treated an extremely inexperienced 17yr old was simply disgusting IMO.

That's how she fights a match. The young girl was smiling and fighting her heart out. I liked her spunk and her game. A lot of athletes compete like Serena. It's no biggie.

I know it bothers you a lot. I respect your opinion in that area. I remember you writing that Lleyton turned you off with his on court aggressiveness. But, the youngster really handled it well and made an otherwise dull event very entertaining. It's a 'sport' thing. There are still a lot of great athletes who exhibit fine qualities during competition. (The two Super Bowl teams this year were very sporting.) So, we can look to them. :D

What exactly did Williams do to the girl?

Remember at the French a couple of years ago where Serena was beating Amelie handily but Serena was screaming and pumping her fist at the net? Well, her opponent today was about to get bageled and all of a sudden she turned it around. She started making great shots and running everything down. Her off pace got Serena out of rhythm and Serena was getting frustrated. Whenever they had great rallies and Serena won she screamed and pumped her fist at her opponent. Serena did this several times.

I'm O.K. with it. bunk is not.

Please don't confuse showing emotion on court with disrespecting the opponent. They are very different!! You like Lleyton, so you're obviously ok with this kind of behavior, but IMO it's very different from just showing emotion. Most of my faves show a lot of emotion but I'd be very upset if they actually did/said things TO Their opponent as a part of their regular behavior :(

i saw the match and i would hardly say it was hewittesque. there were times that serena was really stuggling on her serve, she faced several breakpoints and also missed a lot of break points on peer's serve. i think she saw that things were starting to turn around and was getting frustrated. she seemed to be yelling at herself much more than at her opponent. i dunno that's just how i saw it. :) as for what she siad at the net i don't know what she said, i'm curious...
the only time it seemed she was yelling at her, was when it looked like she tried to hit her, she could have easily passed her crosscourt or down the line and instead she went right at her. i at first thought she tried to hit her too. and it seemed she yelled did she just try to hit me?

I heard Mary Jo and Cliff focus on that incident. But, it happens in tennis, especially in doubles. It's just like a jam serve. If you hit the shot directly at your opponent you can hand cuff them or catch them off guard. Peers seemed like a nice, competitve athlete. Go for your shot, Girl!!

Really? ToJo's AO Trophy might beg to differ ;)

Slightly slower in FL. Moya sets up angles better.

This is such a tough match to pick. That's why I only put a little over 1G on this. H2H is pretty much worthless with their last meeting over 6 years ago.

From what I understand, close enough. It supposedly bounces high like Rebound Ace, etc. Hence why Agassi has had his best results at these two tourneys - coincidence? Doubtful. Anyone who wins a slam on a similar surface can't be taken lightly, IMO.
