Congrats to him, that win must definitely give him some confidence right now seeing that Cañas has just reached a TMS semifinal. Good luck to him in his next match.

He should beat Andreev next round since he just beat him like a week ago. Then who's next for him?

Si, Ferrero! If he can defeat someone like Canas, who forces you to work so hard for every point, in a tough three-setter then he is certainly showing signs of getting back to his best form. Nevertheless, no win can be taken for granted at the moment - Andreev must be playing pretty well to have crushed Pavel 2 and 1, and it would be a backward step if Ferrero lost to the same man he just beat quite handily in IW last week. Hopefully he can win that match, improve his ranking enough to get into Monte Carlo and earn some points there, because in the week that it's held this year his points from the Valencia semis last year will be coming off...

Careful RF, someone might think you were being serious with that Pavel jibe. ;)

I won't get to see anything till Monday, actually - I don't know why Sky can't extend their coverage into the first week of these 96-draw events.

I was positive this match would be another loss for JC- but i'm so proud of him, i reckon he'll beat Andreev, then 4th round, it's been ages since he's been in the 4th round of something-definetly before Wimbledon last year.

03-26-2005, 04:28 AM
Well.... it's been coming for a few weeks, and now its happened. He's knocked off one of the top players. If he's not seeded by Roland Garros, there'll be one big name somewhere in the draw absolutely shitting himself

Well done Juan Carlos :yeah: I'm proud of the effort. It may not have been the cleanest match when you look at the stats, but the point is, he won. He's got a good shot at the 4th round now. :)

Pavel has a lingering shoulder injury that impedes him to reach out while hitting his trademark one-hand backhand... Igor didn't have to do much today to beat him, Andrei could only block the balls back

btw the match between Ferrero and Cañas was one of the most sought after today, and the large sized Court 1, was completely packed from beginning to end...

the religious holiday and superb weather made it perfect for a day of tennis in Key Biscayne, and I've never seen a Friday as crowded as today. Shame on the organizers who underestimated the potential draw of hot Ljubicic and Monfils, who were relegated to smaller, side venues that couldn't possibly contain the expectating attendees... an ongoing match involving Sugiyama was completely ignored by the majority of the public, who decided to climb up to the highest stands in order to view Monfils' match from the top, causing a rather sad situation for the girls...

it was also very interesting to note that in general, the ATP matches were highly attended with long waiting cue lines, while the girls' had a hard time filling up seats, exception being the South-American match-up between Paola Suarez and Catalina Castaño, which had a soccer like atmosphere and noise...

he certainly has enough events to pick up points so he'll be seeded at RG. he's got nothing to defend in Monte-Carlo, Rome or Hamburg....ahould be interesting ;)

Hey, don't beat up on JCF--don't you know he has a suspected head injury (right, Roisin?)

:) Thanks Ace Tracker...I was wondering whether Pavel had an injury or was just out of form...or Andreev was finally figuring out hardcourts this year.
