Juani loose his match 6-3 6-1 against Henman... That's what he said (in spanish)

http://espndeportes.espn.go.com/story?id=318533

:bounce:

ARAG ATP World Team Championship - Düsseldorf, Germany

Grupo Rojo

Chile: Fernando González, Nicolás Massú, Adrián Garcia y Hermes Gamonal.
Capitán: Patricio Rodríguez.

Argentina: Gastón Gaudio, Guillermo Coria Guillermo Cañas y Juan Ignacio Chela.
Capitán: Josep Perlas.

Francia: Sebastien Grosjean, Michael Llodra y Arnaud Clement.
Capitán: Bred Stine.

República Checa: Jiri Novak y Tomas Berdych.
Capitán: No fue anunciado.

Grupo Azul

Capitán: Patrik Kühnen.

España: Tommy Robredo, David Ferrer, Santiago Ventura y Alex López Morón.
Capitán: Mariano Monachesi.

Estados Unidos: Vincent Spadea, Jeff Morrison, Bob Bryan y Mike Bryan.
Capitán: No fue anunciado.

Suecia: Joachim Johansson, Thomas Johansson y Jonas Bjorkman.

I don't that the person that wrote this is right... He is having a bad time, he just can't play his best tennis, but I think that it's only a bad period in his carreer, he can recover from that anytime soon. Of course he want to make the things better, everybody wants that, but he just can't make it now. And the argentinian press is like that: if you win, you are a king, but if you lose, you are the worst player in the world.
I don't know, I'm thinking that I'm not going to see him playing during two weeks, that sucks... I just want to cry...

Juani is not going to play Wimbledon :tears:

His next tournaments are Bastad and Stuttgart. :)

I hope he gets better and rest so he can come back to the tour in great conditions!!!

Yes, he is still injured... he has a pubalgia. I have that thing last year (I'm a dancer) and it's totally awful, and takes some months to be fully recovered. I was watching Tenis Pro (his TV show) and he was training in Buenos Aires. I think he could come back to the tour in Montreal... at least I hope so!

Quaterfinals - Chela def. Malisse 6-4 7-6

What can I say? I'm more than happy for him!!! I came back to my home and turned on the TV and ESPN was showing the Agassi vs. Srichaphan match, and my brother was using the PC so I feel like 'OMG... I need to know something!!!', and ESPN just showed the scores and Chela was 6-4. Then, when they updated it again, Juani was 6-4 5-3, with Mallise serving for the match. Again, I was like 'Please Juani, break him now!!!' and ESPN didn't say anything more about them. But when they finally updated the scores, I knew the last result and since than moment I can't stop smiling!!! :)

Some Juan pics from yesterday's match and something that he said to the ATP: :)

Chela: "First of all, I think I was very focused on the match. I started playing great in the beginning of the match. I’m very happy, it’s important for me to reach the semifinal.”

“I was injured. When you are injured you need to come back very strong. I’m lucky because it’s not easy to come back. I played great this tournament, and I hope to play great tomorrow.”

On playing Agassi: “It’s unbelievable to play against Andre because he’s a legend. I like to play against him because you have to fight on the court to keep the match close because he’s one of the best tennis players in the world.”

Agassi on playing Chela: “I guess we’ve played a couple times. He’s a dangerous player because he looks to set up for his forehand. His backhand’s very under-rated. He can slap in both directions. He gets pretty streaky with his serve. Today was a good step for me to play against a guy who can hit the ball as big as well and as big as Paradorn. It will certainly get me ready for Chela.”

I really don't who I want to win because I love Juan and I want the best for him, but Chucho has to defend the title and it will be sad if he lost in the first round.
Good luck both and give a good fight! :)

Juan is also playing the Szczecin Challenger in Poland between 19th-25th September 2005. I was really surprised at the depth of this field - very impressive.

no, he's not going there, the BAD ATP crossed him and Mathieu out cause they're both ranked too high. and in fact this challenger gonna suck, no one interesting except Zabaleta is coming, b'cause i think Calleri will withdraw like he did from Bucharest.

Well done Juan :) As for why he is playing here...........well I guess it's too far to go home for just a few days between Romania and Palermo - so if he is staying in Europe he might as well play, earn some points and money - and get some match practice.............and of course it is a good tourney as Nathi pointed out.

Noooo, that's so sad :( Poor Juan :( But good luck to him in the doubles!

Eugenia - my friend, her lovely son and me were in Palermo last week and saw Juan and his team lots and lots of times (even on the beach! :)) - Well, we couldn't really go out of their way at the tennis, as we were particulary the only tennis fans and spectators. It is a crazy tournament, really :).

It was very nice to finally see Juan again - I saw him for the first time this year. He did play an excellent first round match. Three hours after the match we found him and his team again on the practice court. Juan is definitely a hard-working guy :). Sadly we missed his night match as we were already on the airport Thursday night :(.

Good luck to Juan, always :)!

Alexito can probably confirm... this was a real easy win for Chela. Although Massu had some great power shots... Chela matched them shot for shot. At one point our commentators stated that you could count the number of errors Chela made during the match (part way through set 2) on one hand.
