I was thinking Andy might've convinced Roger to play here, to see if Roger's flight would disappear in the Bermuda triangle... But seriously, I heard its an amazing tournament, the whole setting and everything :D

His clay record anywhere is crap. He hasn't won a singles match on dirt since May 2002. I asked him to completely skip it, but he said no, he would give a try again. In some way, I have to admire his determination (or stubbornness).

Thanks for the info, kingkent, I'm very pleased for Sco and hope he can do well here (unless he draws one of my other guys :D). Here's the official website:

http://www.xlcapitalbermudaopen.bm/index.html

And here's a story from the site about the WC:

PRESS RELEASE
March 23rd, 2005

Tournament Director, Alec Anderson, has confirmed that he has granted a Main Draw singles Wild card to 18 year-old American, Scoville Jenkins. Right-handed Jenkins hails from Atlanta, Georgia. Jenkins has had tremendous success on the Junior circuit, in 2004 reaching the semi-finals of the Junior Wimbledon competition and the quarter-finals of the Junior Australian Open. Jenkins also won the boys 18 singles title at the USTA (United States Tennis Association) National Championships becoming the first African-American to do so in the 89-year-history of the event. The win earned Jenkins a Wild Card into the main draw competition of the 2004 US Open where he was defeated by the No. 2 seed and US No.1 player, Andy Roddick, in the first round. Scoville consistently serves at 130 mph and will be taking part in the special Junior Clinic organised by the Tournament and sponsored by the Coral Beach Club to benefit the BLTA Junior Program. He turned pro in April 2004 . This will be his first trip to the XL Capital Bermuda Open.

Quote from Jenkins: I am thrilled to have the chance to play in the ATP Challenger in Bermuda. It presents me with the opportunity to further my career. I am also excited about being in Bermuda for the first time.

I think this is the press office, or something to do with the media releases etc.: zmully@yahoo.com She will be happy to answer questions such as times...

Unless she can reply within 30 seconds it does no good :).

And I can't call this tournament either because it is international and I just don't have those type of minutes on my phone. Besides, if I call and find out that Alex isn't entered then the call becomes a complete waste.

Good for Brian :yeah: Was a tad bit worried about the fatigue factor.

I was so excited about Alex's result I didn't notice Scoville's till about an hour after :o

Not a bad day at all...

I think they were but it was still an hour before results were sent out last night. Truthfully, as soon as I was sent Alex's result this afternoon I was in no hurry to see the rest :)

That means the tournament is doing the right thing, it should be up on the atp site first. Good thing about the email, its so nice and pretty, it's really easy to copy it over. Lucky Drew getting his pics already, I haven't gotten mine yet.

I'm okay with the results so far (figured JMG would lose, damn clay), but it will get harder to choose in the next round. All I ask is that my guys all play fair  .

Hey, Brian is on the USTA website as the Pro Circuit player of the week! Yay for Brian!

I wonder what's up in Bermuda. Usually the media email should have been sent with the day's results, and Thursday's OOP. Nothing  Fee told me she got the OOP, but no results.. I don't know why. Anyway, better get off to school, will try and find out from there!

Oh well. c'est la vie.

I mean.. he had an insanely long match in the previous round - even though he had a day off, that's tough. He's got a nice game, I liked what I saw last year in Houston, it's too bad he can't put together some consistency.
