The image that comes to your mind... ;)
What best defines Federer overall...TheMightyFed 03-11-2005, 01:31 PM The image that comes to your mind... ;) CooCooCachoo 03-11-2005, 01:40 PM He's a nice guy, winning or losing perrygreen 03-11-2005, 01:43 PM He can hit from anywhere and any position . I have never seen someone so complete. Unbelievable!:worship: Puschkin 03-11-2005, 01:57 PM Another thread for the worshippers ;), but I 'm half guilty myself. I voted other: He PLAYS tennis, he doesn't shout it, run it or fight it. erik-the-red 03-11-2005, 01:57 PM I picked other: all of the above. jasmine(usa) 03-11-2005, 02:13 PM He plays beautiful tennis. I've never seen anyone who makes the game look so easy. TheMightyFed 03-11-2005, 02:15 PM Another thread for the worshippers ;), but I 'm half guilty myself. I voted other: He PLAYS tennis, he doesn't shout it, run it or fight it. Sorry I couldn't help, but IMO Fed is multi-dimensional enough to talk about these abilities... and it's still more interesting than J. Melzer's alledged boyfriend !! ;) BlackSilver 03-11-2005, 02:34 PM He's so strong mentally madmanfool 03-11-2005, 03:16 PM u forgot this: his footwork Nobody moves as well as Federer on court TheMightyFed 03-11-2005, 03:18 PM u forgot this: his footwork Nobody moves as well as Federer on court I was just saying that to Pushkin in a PM, his footwork is fantastic, but I had only ten possible choices !! ;) mickymouse 03-11-2005, 04:29 PM His backhand---the way he slices the ball so patiently and smoothly Fumus 03-11-2005, 05:07 PM yea...his movement is the best on tour, I think everyone would agree on that's what seperates him from the rest of the pack. Dirk 03-11-2005, 06:27 PM His shotmaking and brains also gives him a huge edge. Rex 03-11-2005, 07:45 PM he is always relaxed- i say this because of he is always relaxed. The relaxation gives himt he time to think things through- thats why he is good. robinhood 03-11-2005, 07:58 PM My choice -- Strong on every surface. Sjengster 03-11-2005, 08:08 PM "He wields his racquet like a magic wand, dissecting opponents with the same skill and precision as a sculptor carving out his masterpiece, flicking deft angled shots cross-court like brush strokes across a canvas... his so-called rivals are little more than the colours in his palette, carefully blended to create the perfect portrait on court." I should take up journalism, there's far more cliched crap where that came from. I can't believe there isn't a single vote for the Federer forehand, it's his most destructive shot and his main groundstroke weapon. Mind you, the shot that comes to mind whenever I think of him is the serve. Call me shallow, but that service action was the first thing I noticed about him when I first saw him while watching Wimbledon back in 2001 - it's so wonderfully fluid and co-ordinated, everything working in unison. As a Schalken fan, you can tell I have a keen eye for beautiful service motions. mangoes 03-11-2005, 09:43 PM soooooooooooooooooooooooo, many reasons. But I'll sum it up with these words, "his tennis is simply beautiful to watch" nkhera1 03-11-2005, 10:17 PM My choice: Best Player By Far elizabeth_c 03-11-2005, 10:27 PM hes ALWAYS RELAXED..he never seems to be intimidated by anyone or by any event...i guess mental strength would also apply... NYCtennisfan 03-11-2005, 11:11 PM His game is so beautiful. I know that's not on the list, but this is what defines Federer for me. aceit 03-12-2005, 12:12 AM I picked other: all of the above. I'm going to have to go with that one too. Daniel 03-12-2005, 12:16 AM All of the above, he is so perfect there is nothing wrong with Roger :worship: MissMoJo 03-12-2005, 12:20 AM How many ways.....He's just the complete package :worship: /complete player as JMac likes to say TheMightyFed 03-12-2005, 07:15 AM As a Schalken fan, you can tell I have a keen eye for beautiful service motions. I watched Schalken against Wawrinka in DC, what a weird service motion he has ! I thought he had problems with his back... he's bending back the trunk so much it looks like in rubber, but doesn't bend the knees... but still powerful. And the rest of his game is pretty standard, but this serve... ;) | |
