ESPN2 is showing it live, though not many people will be up to watch (only the diehards). Though I hope someone's watching so they can tell us what's going on :)

Jackie
11-17-2002, 07:02 AM
Yeah, but it's 6pm here! Why can't they show it?

Layla

Hewitt serves first and holds.

1-0 Hewitt

TennisHack

Well, what are they showing? Maybe they think it's more important.

They're just showing a news broadcast...not anything important. People can watch it on another channel...and news broadcasts are delayed for cricket all the time

15-0 great serve :)
15-15 good play by Hewitt, draws JC to the net with a drop shot and then passes him
30-15 great serve, Lleyton's return is wide
40-15 another great serve
and another one :D

GAME FERRERO

15-0 great serve from Lleyton now
30-0 JC's return too short, Hewitt attacks with a huge fh
40-0 Lleyton finishes the point at the net
great serve, Lleyton moves to the net, JC fights bravely with some fabulous defence work, but in the end it's one too many he has to save

GAME HEWITT

15-0 great serve, Ll's return long
30-0 long rally from the baseline, finally Ll nets a fh, UE
30-15 JC tries a dropshot but it's not good enough for Lleyton
40-15 great serve
40-30 pretty good return, JC nets fh
JC in control, takes Ll out wide then wrong foots him

30-0 missed the first too points :o
40-0 long rally, Lleyton was the aggressor in the point, finally lucky with a let cord as he volleys so the ball drops shorter. He appologizes.
A love service game for Ll.

0-15 another lucky let cord for Ll, drops short, JC at the net, Ll lobs him (of course) then he appologizes
15-15 great serve out wide
15-30 ouch, both at the net, JC gets lobbed again, returns it but misses the next one
30-30 Ll nets a return (phew) on JC's second serve
40-30 good first serve down the t
Ll nets a huge fh

Beating Lleyton, is a much more daunting task on surfaces other than clay. Sadly, of the top players, only Moya has the confidence to do it regularly in recent times.

I've noticed that Moya can paint the lines with Heavy topspin more than Ferrero and is also more willing to take some pace off and hit extreme inside out angles and to use exquisite forehand drop shots after pushing Hewitt back with the heavy topspin. Ferrero hits with a good deal of topspin but nowhere nearly as much as Carlos. Carlos's forehand is more powerful and more precise IMO. JCF's forehand is still outstanding though.

What Juanqui should really be concerned with is his practically negative first serve percentage.

Hewitt complains about a ball Junaqui hit just in line, but he wins the point with another fh drive. Well played. 40-0
Bh down the line winner for Ferrero :) 40-15
