Some Top 10 vs Top 10 Stats

I was interested in seeing how many times each of the current top 10 had won/lost to fellow top 10 players over the 2004 and now 2005 seasons (also INCREDIBLY BORED at the moment), so just thought some ppl here might be interested too....

**This doesnt include wins at exhibition events (ie Kooyong, Hopman Cup), but does include WTT and DC**
** Some of these could well be wrong (ie not a top 10 player at the time of a recorded result) - I’ve just taken all the numbers from the atp website - of which a lot of the rankings given to the players under the tournament results are completely bogus, so I know some of the rank numbers next to the players names are way off, but other than some obvious discrepancies, I cant be stuffed going through each one to get the exact rank**

What an impressive list of stats, Auscon...particularly the avg games conceded/won in sets.

It doesn't surprise me that the three biggest servers (of this group)...Safin, Roddick, Johannson...are all at the bottom of the games conceded. I wonder if it's for lack of other elements in their game (return, groundstrokes...or mentality)...or...because they think their serve can bail them out of trouble...esp. in tiebreaks. Only Andy, however, has a winning record in TBs...and that's by a slim margin.

But the no-brainer is...Fed's stats...back up his results.

Thanks for the research work!!

Thanks Auscon.

Somehow I am surprised Pim Pim played so few matches against Top 10 players, and that he hasn't played many tie-breaks in those matches.

Very interesting. Also note these guys actually don't really meet that often, no more than twice a year on average and almost all of those are in GS or TMS tournaments.

Yeah, I was surprised with that too.....I thought they'd meet much more often

Also surprised that I finally got some responses to this thread :)

Indeed, Pea. People should rather be picking on Moya, Henman, etc.

Impressive research :)
