Congrats to the "Swedish Roddick" with a better personality.

This is what happens when a player has the serve of Karlovic, but a good forehand that can actually break serve and get the ball in play.

Heja the new tradition of Swedish indoor fools with the tactical sense of gnats.

Pim Pim I think will be in the top 10 after this victory and good for him and his new coach Rosengren has being doing a very good job and to his hitting partner.

Great victory and I hope he will take much more titles this year ;)

_pyromatic: It was his second title this year and the 3rd in general!

if he tunes up his game, he could be great. He hasn't exactly faced hard competition in his two title towns yet. We saw a bit of his 1 dimensional game in Melbourne, where he hit 51 aces... and still lost. he'll be good though

well done Joachim, congratulations!!

hopefully he can also do well in Rotterdam next week, I'm already looking forward to a quarterfinal clash with Nalbandian.

Good job Joachim for depriving one of the tour's biggest whiners (along with Nalbandian) of a title.

When's the last time Ivan "Loser" Ljubicic won a singles title, like four years ago?

What were his excuses this time, tournament conspiracy or was it simply the crowd's fault again?

Actually his two recent final losses he has accepted, he has admitted that Joachim and Federer were too good for him.

Why do you hate him? Because he actually had the balls to speak out about a loudmouth obnoxious american?

"Why do you hate him? Because he actually had the balls to speak out about a loudmouth obnoxious american?"

Balls to whine after a loss because the crowd doesn't like him?

Not only in the US, but in Switzerland where he was crying because the crowd wasn't rooting for him.

He's a whiner and not to mention a journeyman player, big ups to Joachim.

Journeyman? Right. Top 15 players are journeymen?

Coleburg83
02-19-2005, 07:27 PM
Yep.

Players that have been around as long as Ljubicic and only have one or two titles on their resume are lucky to be called journeymen.

He's been a pro since 1998 and has a record of 174 - 148 with only $2.5 million in winnings and one title, what would you call him in Croatia? A hall of famer?

I don't care for Ljubicic, but his titles count is vastly underrated.

jole
02-19-2005, 08:32 PM
Or well, it probably makes more sense if I say it's amazing he doesn't have more titles. And probably with an ounce more of luck in the past he would have had more.

Congrats to JJ. Hopefully this title is the start of somehting big in his career. He should be the next Swede to make the top ten and win a grand slam singles title. I hope Joachim now becomes a consistent threat in the majors. He has the game to be a real threat at the majors now it's up to him to do it.
