Oh well....we're talking divorce here, not death ;)

Washa Koroleva
02-09-2005, 09:33 PM
death is quite similar, i think.
well, i mean if u stop having contact to ur mum/dad...

Carlita
02-09-2005, 09:38 PM
oh yes, if you don't have any contact with your mum/dad it might feel the same...
still, sometimes I wish it had been a divorce, he might still be here then.

Hopefully, mine are not, but my mum had to divorce with her previous husband, my brother's father, to marry my dad.
It was a very hard experience for my bro, so great hugs for everyone who goes through that.

And a very special ones to Carlita

Yes. I was 7 or 8 when it happened. It's not a big deal because I don't remember what it was like when they were together, and they are better off apart.

My parents have been married since '69 shortly before my dad left for his first tour in Vietnam and are still very happy together

They been together since they were like eleven years old, childhood sweethearts. First and only person they have ever kissed is eachother, hehehehe.

Quite an oddity in the 60's, but then again that was the beginning of the decline in culture and my parents are more relics from the tough WW2 era folk, not the drama queen generation that followed.

My parents have been married forever, almost 25 years- I just don't think that they love each other very much, because they had an arranged marriage. They respect each other and are nice to each other, but they aren't very close at all. They don't even sleep in the same room. An apathetic relationship.

My parents are neither married nor divorced.... They're together since 1970 I believe, but they never married... Generation hippie I'd say  They even went to the Ashram in Poona, India. But that was before I was born.

My mom has always been very active in feminist groups and refused to fulfill the tradtional image of an ideal married couple. I never figured out why this was so important for her.

Anyway, they're still very happy :)

My parents have been married since December 1973 and are still in love! :D I am very thankful for that, because I love them both very much!

Very sorry to hear about the people who's parents split up, But sometimes, it's better if they get a divorce than stay together. Maybe that's a sort of confort to some... to know that their parents will probably be better of if they're separated.

I've gained more from my parents being divorced than I would have from them being together, I believe. (that's not to say that people whose parents are not divorced are lacking something that I have... just that we've had totally different experiences, both with their good points, and that I feel blessed with my own)

My father is a widower. My beloved mother passed away in 1999 after they'd been happily married for 34 years.

They "had" to get married...'cause I was on the way...and me, being the little smart a$$ I was at 14 called my mom on it. Her answer: "We're still married...aren't we?" Shut me up real quick...and gosh darn...I miss her. So does Dad. He's got a girlfriend now...but it's not the same for him.

Been married only 3.5 years myself...and hope...hope...my husband and I will have...what they did.

My parents are married for almost 31 years now.

I'm a Muslim and us Muslims don't date before getting married so you can say my parents were lucky. They still love each other very much and still enjoy life together.

I hope one day I'll have a marriage like theirs.

My parents are no longer together but they don´t want to get divorced. They still get along very well although my mother is dating another man now (can´t stand him but oh well...) and that´s why they haven´t thought about getting divorced yet. I´m happy to have such cool parents, it could have been a lot worse.

I can't really answer this question.
*My parents despise each other, yet we lived in the same house until I was 21.
*She then met a man and moved in with him within a week. (She's still there, and I'm 23)
*As much as they don't get on, she's quite content to stay married to dad for the (military) health benefits, and I think she's just staying legally married until Dad reaches his 55th bday (or something) and gets some more cash from work . To be honest, I don't think she'll live that long.

My mother has been known to be rather slutty, have gambling issues, is a heavy smoker and basically just a complete wanker. I have clashed with her many many times in the past and don't particularly think she has many morals.

I guess my answer to this is "hopefully soon" so she will stop sponging off her family.

ooh and I forgot to mention their birthdays!
Apparently Male Aries and female Leos are a fiery combination (in a bad way.)
Her birthday : August 6 (Hiroshima)
His birthday: April 20 (Same as Hitler). Now isn't that interesting!? :p

PS. My dad is very
