bad performance and result for Guille :( :banghead:
I wanted him to do well in Marseille, but now the talk "he should have played in his own country", "he should have this and that" etc will begin again  :o

As long as he is not facing Kiefer/Schüttler next week, I hope he does will in Rotterdam and proves his real ability there! Good luck! :yeah:

Sébastien was a set and a break down (3-6 0-2) in the final qualifying round, against Florent Serra. I really do like Sébastien, but I think Coría not being fit has played a major part in this loss.

But remember Queen's, where Coría was beaten by Yen-Hsun Lu first round. The week after, he came back to reach the final in Rosmalen. We'll see what happens next week.

No, I don't think he will make it that far in Rotterdam. But I was merely pointing out that Guillermo should never be written off, even after lousy results or after injury. He's a bit inconsistent that way and seems to do well when people don't expect him to (i.e. after a bad loss).

So does this mean that Sebastien is the new Germinator? ;)

Every player wants to be n° 1.. At least, he is much closer than most player (including the mentally fragile Fernando Gonzalez who might never reach the top 10).

It's not really shocking when bad players lose to other bad players.

I'm his fan. Forgive me for not being around immediately after his loss today. Next time Coria plays I will be sure to skip my 6 hours of lecture so that I can login imediately to "defend" him, because he should never EVER lose.

EXCELLENT point! Number 1 players NEVER take bad losses, therefore it is absurd for a player who takes the occasional bad loss (especially to a player who is playing in their own country!) to aspire to reach that peak!

I think that my brain is going to explode if I continue to try to reason like a complete fucking moron.

I'm sure Coria will cry for a few minutes at the thought of losing to an unknown player and facing the sniggers of his "friends" Juan "Camel" Chela, Gaston "Squirrel" Gaudio, et al....but then he will remember the sizable cheque the Marseille organisers will hand him for his 60 minutes work this week and he will smile on his way to the airport knowing that Rusedski won't cane his arse for a few more weeks.

Judging by Chela's loss yesterday, I don't think he's in much position to snigger. Gaudio of course is another story.

No no no. Most tennis players play strictly for the love of the game. Only evil ones like Coria play for money. This makes them bad and they should be banned from the tour immediately.

Do you think that any of these misfits... any of them at all... read this satirical take on their nonsense and think "wow... I sound like a MORON!" Probably not, eh?

I think resuscitation followed by a lengthy series of counselling sessions will be needed for RPH during this year's clay-court season.

Could be a ludicrous thought but i am serious when i post it -

Was Coria deliberately trying to avoid Rusedski? Afterall, Rusedski made numerous remarks about Coria and other players' drugs cases and we all know that Coria was angry about that. Did he feel a little uncomfortable about thew thought of facing a man that said those things and didn't lose his case at the tribunal and face a ban?

Chloe le Bopper
02-10-2005, 12:45 AM
Somehow I doubt that was playing through his mind. I'm only surprised that Coriafan didn't think this up first ;)

Coria: "Physically I was fine but I didn't have any rhythm today. I had to stop playing after the Australian Open because of my injury. I only started playing again on Friday. I knew it was a risk to come here but that's life. It's a shame as it was a good opportunity to get some points indoor but I will continue my preparations for Rotterdam and hopefully rediscover my top form. The main goal is to be at my highest level for the Indian Wells and Miami."

The way I played today, my mother and my grandmother would have beaten me," said Coria, a clay specialist.
:haha:
