live unveiling of the brackets will be available here. (http://www.ncaa.com/liveschedule/2013/04/30) at 5 pm eastern.

Will Virginia be the #1 overall seed despite being #2 in the rankings right now to UCLA?

Who will be the last team in the field between Michigan State,San Diego State and Columbia?

they got a dream draw. They were given the #2 seed as UCLA was given #1 even though UCLA has 1 loss and UVA is undefeated. But UVA's draw is better. Their potential seeded opponents till the final if the seeds hold are, #15 Florida, #7 Tennessee, #3 Georgia. So they avoid UCLA,USC and Ohio State, all 3 of them are in the other side of the draw. Those are the only 3 I could see upsetting Virginia.

I was in Knoxville today to watch the 6 hour match heart breaker. Tennessee beat Clemson 4-3.

I will have a full report tomorrow.

There have been some big upsets in this tournament. Denver beating Florida was the biggest by far. First time I can ever recall a 4 seed knocking off a 1.

Does Libietis play serve and volley?

Does Libietis play serve and volley?

Yes he does mainly. he missed a lot of volleys vs Maden. Has a bad habit of running through his volleys. When he hits from the baseline he chooses particular spots to load and crush a big forehand, dosen't have the patience to grind.

Baylor let USC off the hook there. They took doubles and had the lead on 4 courts at one point. The crown wobbled but the king remains alive.

I think Libetis just sprained his ankle, that's probably the match, not like Tennessee had a chance at winning this anyway. Amazing get on a serve let cord by Jarmere Jenkins, it has to be said.

What a contrast in styles between the Tennessee and UVA players. The Vols sure like to serve and volley and close in on the net a lot, Williams somehow missed the memo when he went there. What is on Ryan Shane's back?

Libietis should retire. No point in this now.

Frank failed to serve for the match against Fickey so the tie continues, poor Libietis. UVA up 3-0.

Styslinger closed it out

Libietis was still playing when I switched to Frank's match and both him and Styslinger were serving for the match at the same time.

Hope Libietis is ok to go for the individual championships. Really should have won in straights but he let Jenkins hang around then of course got injured. Talented player. Excited to see how he improves and it will be interesting to see when he goes pro.

And that's it, Kobelt d. Sarmiento 7-6 7-6

Very tight match. Some solid Isner-like stuff from Kobelt.

With 4-time defending champ out, a new winner will be crowned....who will step up and take it.

Semis: UGA vs UVA, UCLA vs OSU

I'm hoping for a UVA-OSU final.

Great stuff yesterday. Unfortunately I was traveling so I wasn't able to watch.

Big match from Novikov to step up and beat Cunha 6-4 6-4. Cunha's first dual match loss of the season.

Even though he won, I kinda understand why he struggled so much in the futures. The longer the points, the higher the percentage of him committing silly unforced errors (especially off rally shots on the forehand side). Some of the misses were not even close to the baseline

Novikov vs Rola will be a firecracker. Rola crushed Gomez 6-1 6-0 and Novikov overcame Cunha. That will be a crucial match in what will be a very close match between UCLA and Ohio State. UCLA is the favorite at 3,5 and 6 while Ohio State the favorite in doubles and court 2. The match will be won and lost at 1 and 4. McCarthy is showing a lot of steel lately and will probably out fight Mkrtchian at 4. That will leave #1 as the decider.

recap on my prediction:

Ohio State wins doubles
Kobelt beats Giron at 2
McCarthy beats Mkrtchian at 3

Puget beats Smith at 3
Thompson beats Diaz at 5
Sell beats Christ at 6

#1 the decider.

Giron breaks him and gives UCLA the 4-3 win! Kobelt double faulted on match point, with a disastrous mishit on the 2nd serve.

Nathan Pasha throwing in back to back double faults at 30 all to give Domijan the break to go up 5-4 in the 3rd. Domijan would then easily hold to secure the win for Virginia.

Some aggressive taunting from Virginia fans here toward Pasha.

Congrats to UVA for finally winning the title. Defeats UCLA 4-3 with Frank clinching the tie 0-6 6-4 7-5. What a dramatic match. Puget was serving for the match, but lost the championship point b/c he touched the net. Frank won the last 3 games, dramatic final game as well. His game might not be the most exciting, but at least he is mentally tough unlike some players.

what a final. I thought Virginia was going to bottle it again when Puget and sell had the 3rd set momentum. The end of Frank/Puget was ugly, both players playing poorly. Frank cracked like an egg at 3-4, hitting three straight routine shots into the net. I thought for sure Puget had it at that point. This would have been a beyond devastating loss for Virginia but in the end they took home their first title.

Even though Frank will get praise as the hero because he was the last to win and pull out the 0-6 6-4 7-5 win the real heroes today were Justin Shane and Jarmere Jenkins.

Shane was pounded by Emilio Gomez in 2011 in the national title and then last year lost the decider in heartbreaking fashion to Yannick Hanfmann. And with that history he comes back this year and routine Clay Thompson 6-2 6-2(Thompson had been on fire for a month) was very impressive.

Jenkins really showed up in his final dual match as a Cavalier. Novikov is one of the most pro ready players in college and had been playing very good including giving Henrique Cunha his first loss of the year. Jenkins was able to control Novikov throughout the match and give UVA a very crucial point.

for UCLA. Giron really showed up by routining Domijan 6-4 6-4(2nd straight year Domijan has been routined in the national title, last year he was beaten by Ray Sarmiento in 2) after he beat Kobelt in the decider in the semifinals. Big tournament for Giron.

Mkrtchian gave a good solid performance by beating Stylsinger without too much sweat.

Karue Sell had a big rally which is what set up Puget to add the exclamation point. Uriguen's lack of conditioning showed again as he was less fit than Sell and was out maneuvered by sell in the last two sets and beat the usually clutch senior.

Domijan and Novikov are mentally weak. Domijan was broken at the tail end of each at 4*-5 and Novikov df on match point.
