Wimby 07/08 finals, Aus 09 final - Think Fed brings out the best in him tbh! I know he moonballs to the backhand etc but he has to utilise more of his game against players who seek to end the points early and not try to out-grind him. And whose better at that than Fed?

Never try to find anything entertaining from a player whose nickname includes "dull".

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRBRcoP2F38

That's one of his few entertaining matches. Other entertaining matches are vs. Söderling @ RG '09, vs. Dodig @ Montreal '11, vs. Kohlschreiber @ Halle '12 and vs. Zeballos @ Vina del Mar '13.

Too bad he's always injured when he plays an entertaining match.

Care if I do? "Entertaining" is subjective, so, of course, considering your intentions when opening this thread you wouldn't agree with any video posted here, and thus the only point you would be trying to make is "Nadal plays a boring game", and it would be perfectly fine to delete the thread and infract you according to rule 3.ii from GM (to which you'd probably complain horribly and say you're being persecuted).

But, as it is subjective, you can see that many people have posted their favourite Nadal matches, and even I (who am not a fan of Nadal by any means) agree that he is entertaining to see (sometimes). So I guess I'll only change the thread title to "name your favourite Nadal performance" and things will go on, how does that sound? :)

Trying too hard bro. I've trolled many years on many forums, you need to build some kind of online personality and a gimmick. Right now you're just lashing out at everybody and mass spamming low effort trolling. Some good ideas so I don't want you to get banned yet but that's where you're headed if you don't make allies and find a safe niche. Just looking out for you.

Early Nadal performances on HCs were always fun. His movement and energy was so great back then.

And I enjoy any match where he dictates with his forehand  It's the best shot in tennis.

Mark Lenders
04-08-2013, 10:37 PM
Nadal is really not my type of player, although he's of course effective to devastating extents. I generally don't enjoy his matches much unless he's facing someone with a lot of firepower to stand up to him and create a clash of opposite styles.

His FH is argubaly the best groundstroke in men's tennis today, maybe ever (I don't think it is, but it's definitely up there by any standards), but it is effective in the way it slows the game down. The amount of spin Nadal can consistently generate off that wing not only slows the game down but makes it very hard for opponents to control their shots let alone attack him effectively. The only way to prevent this is by taking his shots on the rise, which only Davydenko is capable to do (or was, in his prime), or of course by redlining your games and hit massive shots one after another; outlasting Nadal is also an option, but not one that anyone apart from Djokovic really has.

Nadal deserves a lot of credit for the new levels of fitness he brought to the game, as well as for being revolutionary in the use of extreme topspin to slow the game down, but it's not really the kind of tennis I most enjoy watching, especially not when he's beating up on weaponless opponents.

People who do not understand or know anything about tennis don't find Nadal entertaining. He is a master of endurance, will and tactics. He is a very smart player and always works to get better. His performances are always a lesson in tennis to the opponent. Anyone who knows real tennis understands this.

Federer fans enjoy flashy stuff and look away from the court when they see fancy glitter and diamonds in the crowd and don't watch the tennis.

He wouldn't have 10+ slams if his game was one dimensional.Actually he would. Nadal is a clay specialist baseliner and kudos to him for dominating that surface but his other 4 slams he can thank the homogenization of the courts for. In today's day and age you don't need variety (and if you can't see that, listen to Robbie Koenig or something) - you only need to be a solid baseliner. Look at Ferrer. Heck, look at Djokovic.

Do you know what tactics are? If you do than you know more than Federer does. This Federer is good, collects 17 slams without knowing what tactics are... imagine the natural talent this player must have...

Of course, Everko is speaking nonsense as usual. Federer can be stubborn but he has a great understanding of the game. Which is why he (at his peak) could handle everyone but Nadal on clay. He still has the understanding, but his body can't always follow now.

Nadal's most entertaining match was vs Soderling at FO '09 by some margin. Wimby '12 vs Rosol was pretty entertaining too though. And lets not forget the classics vs Delpo at the '09 USO and vs Fed at the '11 WTF, vs Dodig in '11 Montreal, and vs Mayer at '11 Shanghai. All highly entertaining stuff. Not to mention so many matches vs Djokovic and Davydenko. He does provide some serious entertainment I'll give him that.

Wimbledon 08 final and RG 08 Final were the best though.

Magical performances imo.

Great to see haters savoring Nadal losses. Considering his career winning percentage, they don't get to gloat too often. Not to mention every player that beat Nadal, eventually ended up being his bitch :bigwave:

lol, I admit that you are far more funnny than me, with your perennial exhibition of butthurt

Ah, our adorable grumpy teenager from Sweden... so trollable :hearts:Don't I just love to be patronized by people who are a lot dumber than me. Funny thing, I'm a long time fan of Davydenko's game but I can't even use him for an avatar without having to listen to the Nadaltards whining their asses off. So I guess I'm probably not the butthurt one here mate. Btw I'd say you're probably younger than me but I've learned that age has nothing to do with the childishness you guys possess.

Nadal vs. Rosol was very entertaining.

Plus we got the extra juicy entertainment when Nadal showed his true side when he got agitated and bumped Rosol.

very apt analogy though
:yeah:

Not at all.

This comparaison doesn't do Fed justice. Pav was just a boring meat wall with a great voice, better to be heard than seen.
