Too good Rosol Czechs into the semis. Korolev served for the 3rd set at 5-4, but couldn't get it done.

Not bad from the reserves making the semis.

Argentina couldn`t beat Czechs at home on clay - no way they would do it on hard in Praha.

Rosol is called a ballbasher but he only beat Golubev and Korolev because he can slice and they can't.

Tough match. Great fight by Lukas when he was down 3*-5 in the third set. :yeah:

Another Fed Cup and Davis Cup semi for this little tennis powerhouse :worship:

Korolev should have played Hajek not Kukushkin. Korolev got tight at 5-4 in the third, he was basically serving 2 second serves. Korolev was far more aggressive and pro-active than Rosol.

Ever since RosLOL beat injured Nadal, there has been a massive circle jerk amongst haters every time this mug wins a match. Pathetic really. Without that fluke win, they would probably not know who this journeyman is. Another run of the mill mindless ballbasher like Chardy, Korolev, Gulbis, Korolev, Kukushkin and other such clowns bringing disrepute to ATP tour.

Rosol is still a fluke overrated mug.

Korolev was far more aggressive and pro-active than Rosol.

That´s true. But I think the difference today was that Rosol just had little bit more variety in his shots, especially on the backhand side. He mixed up with flat shots, slices and high topspin shots which created good angles and that suit well against flat hitters like Korolev if you can get it deep enough.

Great performance from Rosol :yeah:. He fought really hard and seems to have toned down his ballbashing a bit. That's the way forward surely, being more controlled with his aggressive shots.

Btw, Korolev has really been hitting the gym, looking very strong. Shame that he wasn't able to keep up his level from a few years back.

If Argentina loses to the Czechs rather than the French, I'll hate a certain player forever.

indoor hard+czech crowd: dont expect miracles, man.
Zeballos, Berlocq, Alund, Mayer, they are all terrible indoor players. Nalbandian: great indoor, but before his retirement, best of 5 will be too much for old man. That leaves only Monaco who can win against Berdych, but its doubtful.

Monaco can beat Berdych? :haha:

Look at their H2H, Berdych has played like utter shit against Monaco on clay before and still he's won.

Exactly.

The one I'll hate is the one who is making the ties rest only on all these terrible indoor players.

Those players you mentioned are not just bad indoors, they are bad in general - their suckiness is surface independent. Nalbandian being the exception of course: David rolling back the years is the only chance Argentina would have in such a tie.

Well not really, it was fitness actually that got Rosol through, they were really even. Korolev started cramping by the tail end of the third set by the 10th game i believe.

Obviously it's an impossible tie if Del Potro doesn't play, but no way Alund is playing DC. Mayer can play good indoors (definitely better than Monaco who won't beat Berdych indoors) but he's been playing pretty bad for some time. Zeballos has reached and indoor final so he can beat Czech's #2 but Berdych will be wining his both singles unless Nalbandian can play good tennis for 5 sets (almost impossible).
