$1,220,301 prize money for never winning a tournament?

Not bad.

I wish him the best in retirement.

Yes, he lost this match, but it was a great one.
I remember someone described his looks once, it was something like this: "He looks like one of those uncles from tropical countries that comes to visit you every few years."
Have a good after-tennis life. :yeah:

i'll never forget that match against Taylor Dent... I saw it all: from beginning to end on TV. I meant to watch only a few games but I was mesmerised. Great atmosphere, too. The crowd was ecstatic. :worship:

Good luck, Ivan. :wavey:

He was shattered when they changed the surface to Valencia from clay to hardcourt.

The Navarro Pastor twice semi finalist with the S & V sexiness beating Fernando Gonzalez one of the times.

I was at the match of Navarro and Dent, the Grandstand court was just electric, most of the people were Americans there, so pulling for Dent, but I was definitely rooting for Navarro. Was a great match

Sad to see him retire as he was good fun to watch and seemed like a nice guy to boot, but the decision is understandable and maybe even wise.

Have a good retirement :worship:

Feeling quite sad right now (I need a hug  ).
I was expecting him to retire soon but not just now.
He had lost in Futures against 18, 17 and 20 year old Spaniards (only won a First Round match last Wednesday).
I watched his yesterday's match against Meffert but his serve and volley is not what it used to be.
He is still in the doubles draw, so I'll watch him for the last time.
I went to see him at a Challenger in Madrid last season where he won the Doubles title.
He took pictures with me and was very pleasant (gave me one of his rackets :D ).
He had always had elbow problems but still managed to play some great matches.
A part of Serve and Volley tennis dies with his retirement.

I wish you the best of luck in your new life, Iván.:worship:

and the famous quote from Ivan

The pastor had zero presence on the court, looks like one of those uncles who visits you now and again from a hot country.

Former pro Salvador Navarro(ATP-157) is his brother. Or is he? Is it just Ivan with a different haircut! Look at their profile pictures.

marquez
04-04-2013, 12:39 PM
looks similar, but based on this, it's salvador navarro-gutierrez

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salvador_Navarro

we all know that ivan "the pastor" navarro's full name was navarro-pastor

maybe he is the stepbrother?

need clarification on this...

The two Navarros have played against each other a few times. The first time must have been awkward: "What the hell, I'm playing against myself".

Could it be possible that the ATP has some old photo of Ivan instead of Salvador?
