360 points behind Djokovic in the race, that's good.

Djokovic is by far the better player on clay but draws will be huge. If Djokovic can land both Federer and Nadal in his half in at least 2 of Roland Garros, Rome and Madrid, the race could still remain very close between the top guys.

Congrats to Murray and his fans. He has a very, very doable chance to reach #1 by the North American hardcourt summer because of Wimbledon. Novak's game has coincidentally and seemingly taken another lower level when you compare it to this time last year which obviously still pales in comparison to his record season in 2011.. Not saying that is going all down hill for Novak, but he did drop a level last year and it seems to have perhaps continued a little for this first half of the season.

Either way, if Murray can gain points on clay and do very good on grass which really if Federer is out of sorts then he could coincidentally be the favorite to win Wimbledon this year, he should be able to pick the number 1 ranking up.

If Djokovic was to get Nadal or even a Del Potro playing well in the clay masters quarter finals, he could lose an absolute chunk of points.

What Muzza has to do is play Queens and win it, Wimbledon will be decisive. Whatever happens there will define his chances. If he defends his points or even wins (I don't see anyone to fear bar Nadal who on slow mud in week 2 is a monster to take down) then he has to make sure he can cushion his Olympic points drop-off with 2 good weeks at Canada and Cincinnati.

All ifs and buts though!

Ferrer is a paper number 4, as everbody knows that Nadal is a far superior player.

Murray number two is logic after the Wimbledon final, the Olympics, the US Open , the OA final and now that MS serie title. He is on a great run since last year, eventough is level is still not back at his best.

If Nadal stays healty for the next 6 months, the top 5 will be different.

Yeah sure, winning 2 out of 4 tournaments this season, one a slam no less, makes it for a serious drop of level (if i was the others i'd feel very threatened now). My god, the things you have to read in this forum.

Well played Andy son, reckon with his lack of points to defend til Wimbledon he'll stay top 2 for a while yet. Would love to see Fed mount a challenge but see him 3-5 at least until the aftermath of Wimbledon. Rafa could kick back into place over this clay season and Djoko is still the best in the world right now IMO. Ferrer too has been overachieving and can't be ruled out, with Delpo and Berdy playing much better in 2013 thus far too. All to play for IMO

He can't defend that. It will be lost and not replaceable by anything this year. On the good side though, everybody loses their points gained there, but are more easily replaceable with Washington played during that time.

Major butthurt detected here. Maybe Nadal came back strong because he is talented and a great player. Would love to see what the hooligan would achieve after 7 month layoff. Would probably struggle to win a challenger match LOL

Kinda, sorta happy to see Murray at No. 2. It, at the very least, guarantees that we won't have to suffer through a Djoker-Murray match until at least a final.

They bring out the absolute worst in each other, game-wise.

This is a fair ranking in terms of results in the last 12 months. However in terms of what is going to transpire over the next few months I think the top 2 guys are Nole and Nadal. Murray is the 3rd best player. Fed fourth and Ferrer is 5th. I'm still not convinced Murray is over his Rafa hump. He'll need to beat him in a slam. It's not happening at RG nor Wimbledon. He can beat him at the USO though.
