That's right. I'm whoring all the threads today. But I can't help it, as they have each involved a genuine favorite of mine.

The win was expected from Berdych, but I thought it would be with much more of a struggle. It's a good sign that he (Tomas) can produce this kind of performance even on courts like these.

The guy has matured tremendously as a player.

Expected result considering Querrey has been terrible all season, even serve is no longer a weapon these days.

Berdych, on the other hand, is putting together a very consistent season so far. Another semifinal, maybe even final, seems on the horizon for him here.

Berd was relentless, Querrey was laughable, basically, though there were like a 1000 30-30 games. trashed his racket at the start of the first, unsurprisingly.

Querrey is just terrible making all kinds of error with zero confidence. That said, Berdych would still win but not with scoreline like this.

That was just bizarre, is Querrey sick or something? Berdych was average, nothing more. Querrey had an inhuman number of UEs

LOL US Tennis is a joke. At least us Brits can produce a Slam winner.

I pray Donald Young sorts his head out soon as he is their only hope.

Trololol!

"Brits" haven't produced shit. Scotland produced the person, and the clay courts of Spain produced his game. Murray slams the LTA at every chance he gets, and blames them for "ruining" Jamie's game.

Also, you'd do well to qualify your statement with a "right now" since the US has produced 8 different major champions in the last three decade alone while the Brits were still waiting for their first major champion since...remind me of that infamous date.

I love Murray, but I'll laugh when, years from now, he'll have set the new standard for the last time the UK as a whole has produced a champion.

Murray wants to help improve British Tennis, and is inviting the young talents over to train with him, he's also wanting to set up an academy when he retires, to start improvements.

Are you sure you'll laugh? Because I wouldn't write off the young Brits yet...

Querrey on US vs Serbia: "Think we're going to win that. Hopefully we're going to win 1 after that. I think we can go all the way"

If that's true then I'll be looking forward to seeing what his effort can produce. But make no mistake, it'll take a monumental effort since, as is the case here in the US, he'll be up against the entire ideology and systemic policies of the association.

I would. He's not a youth, but I really like that Jamie Baker fellow you all have. Still to think that he and Ward are the country's current 2 and 3 is...

We had a girl from N. Ireland attend our camps when I worked for Nike. Sweet girl, and I loved watching her out-duel players at the net during team play, but you could see how far out of her element she was having grown up on synthetic grass at home.

Well the youngsters are not bad, but I think they need to sack the LTA off and start training abroad, or with Murray. I think Broady trained with him this year. I've not lost faith with Broady or Golding yet, both are only 19..

Another cakewalk draw for Birdscat. No worries he will be owned by his master in the next round.

Baker has the game for top 60/70 imo, but he can't handle the pressure at all. If he could serve out sets even averagely for his level he'd be an ATP regular a few years ago, but so often you see him being broken at *5-4 then lose the tiebreak, or even get broken again for 5-7.

Anyway, Querrey ......... jesus H Christ. Just when you think the guy is getting it together, he does this.

And now that Djokovic has been eliminated, Berdych could have a shot at the title. He's been in very fine form recently. I'd love for Tomas to win the title... or Gasquet...or Tommy Haas... a surprise winner... :D
