Just informing you guys if anyone is interested. :) I bought them just a few minutes ago.

Deboogle!.
01-12-2005, 02:20 AM
I don't want more than one :retard:

You bought them? How much was shipping? it was telling me shipping was gonna cost more than the bands :sobbing:

aceit
01-12-2005, 02:26 AM
Yeah, shipping was $10 itself. :bs:

Deboogle!.
01-12-2005, 02:27 AM
uh...... that's absolutely ridiculous. They'd be like way better off if they sold the bracelets for $3 each including shipping. But no, why do something smart. :p

Smart? HA! Half the people in the world haven't heard of that concept. Hopefully these things can come by Saturday mid-day so I can wear one to my tennis tourney. I'll be so Andy-ish with my No Compromise and Babolat racquets (no I didn't buy the racquets b/c of him, so many people think that  :p).

Anyway, if you don't want to pay for them now, I'm sure they'll be up on ebay in a matter of time if you don't care about buying it directly from AR.com.

Deboogle!.
01-12-2005, 02:47 AM
well I'd like to buy it from Andy's site to make sure that his charity gets the money. It's just dumb, knowing that a lot of Andy's fans are younger and the smallest thing you can buy still costs over $20. I mean that's just stupid.

aceit
01-12-2005, 02:52 AM
I wish the shipping money went to Andy's charity :p(I know that in theory would make no sense but it's the same amount of as the bands!).

I just remembered, when I bought a 10 pack of livestrongs from LAF.org, it came with 10 postcards with Lance Armstrong's pic and copied signature on them. Maybe Andy will do something like that.

RoddickBabe10
01-12-2005, 03:39 AM
How much is it for the bands? $10?!!? that's absolutely ridiculous! the livestrong ones are only $1.00 haha

Deboogle!.
01-12-2005, 03:41 AM
Well, no no no it's $10 for a pack of 5. Then an exorbadent shipping fee that costs as much as the pack of bands.

So dumb.

RoddickBabe10
01-12-2005, 03:46 AM
Oh got it. I was gonna say $10 for a wristband?!!? lol but the shipping fee is just :retard:

Can you only buy these as a pack?

Deboogle!.
01-12-2005, 03:50 AM
yea, that's why I say it's stupid. You can only buy them as a pack of 5 (or more)

If they just made them like $3 each or something, they'd get plenty of money to cover shipping (I mean my god they're probably light enough to put in a regular envelope and stick a .37 stamp on it lmao) and younger people would be able to afford it for just a couple bucks. But hey that's just my opinion

RoddickBabe10
01-12-2005, 03:55 AM
That's true and A LOT of Andy's fans are younger (like 13 or so?) I don't know I might as well buy it since I've been waiting for this for a while... lol

Well... what do you think? Is this worth it? lol

Leena
01-12-2005, 03:56 AM
If you get the $2000 for 1000 wristband deal... shipping is only $12.50.

Deboogle!.
01-12-2005, 03:56 AM
It's up to you :) I mean for me, spending over $20 for what I really want - which would be one band worth $2, seems ridiculous... but if you want it and you can afford it, then get it. Maybe you can split the cost with someone or sell some to people or whatever :)

RoddickBabe10
01-12-2005, 03:58 AM
lol hey good input... well I don't know of any people that like tennis so I think I'm just gonna give them to people, I think lol but thank you.

OMG! i just did the estimated shipping thing and 5 bands and shipping to australia is $75.91!!!!!!!!!

if anyone from america (where shipping is cheapest) could possibly order them and post one to australia for me, and you could divide the total price by how many bands you got, and ill pay that in american dollars (even exchange the money), could you please email me at williaer@mlc.vic.edu.au).

i really really want them, but cant afford it if its that expensive...

thanks so much

Update: I got my bands today. :D Nothing too special considering they are just rubber but I like them because I doubt anyone in my school will have one unless I give them one, and because, uhh, well I'm a Roddick fan. ;) It took 8 days total to get them here (ordered on the night of the 12th). Anyway, just wanted to give an update like I said I would.

Roddick's Wristband Supports Charity
By Tennis Week
01/21/2005

Some players wear their heart on their sleeve, Andy Roddick wears commitment on his wrist. The blue "No Compromise" wristband Roddick has been wearing on his left hand during the Australian Open represents his commitment to children's charities.

Roddick fans can order the wrist band on his official web site Andy Roddick.com or by calling Doris Porter at the Andy Roddick Foundation at (561) 392-4357. A five-pack of "No Compromise" wristbands costs $10 plus $2 shipping and handling. All proceeds benefit children in need.

The second-ranked Roddick takes on 32nd-seeded Jurgen Melzer in the third round of the Australian Open. Roddick, who is 2-0 lifetime against Melzer, will play either French qualifier Jean-Rene Lisnard or Philipp Kohlschreiber in the fourth round if he beats Melzer on Saturday.

Deboogle!.
01-21-2005, 11:55 PM
I just checked - in addition to the UPS Ground, it also says there's a choice for the USPS Parcel Post for like $7 something.... but I've sent things WAY heavier than rubber wristbands via Parcel Post, that can't cost more than a few cents or a dollar at most. So I don't know where they are getting this $2 crap from.

I still think they should just sell them for $3 a piece and stick them in an envelope and put a .37 stamp on it... but hey, that's me :p

I think that's what they should do. What are the shipping them in to charge people $10? The box better unwrap itself or something.

Dorks are cool. I seriously could care less about what people think of me reguarding what I wear.

When livestrongs were at their peek in selling, I wore two of them because I hated wearing the same thing as everyone else. Now I'm wearing my livestrong on my right and my no compromise on my left (just like Mardy ;)).

Oh, and what are the Kelly Clarkson ones for? I've heard about them, but never saw them.

Breakaway
01-22-2005, 03:56 AM
I used to have a livestrong one but it broke. :(

The Kelly Clarkson ones say "Hear Me" which is on her new CD, and it's about being heard when you speak. The wristbands were actually started by a couple of fans. They are more of the rubber-band type. I like them they are black w/ white writing. They also have some blue and white ones that say "Because Of You" which is another song of hers.

As Kelly would say "I am a dork, Dorks are cool"

As Andy would say, "I always think of guys who have finished No. 1, and past U.S. Open champions are like the super heroes. And now I did. And I just looked at myself, and I'm still a dork."

No, I didn't memorize that. I have it saved as an away message for AIM. ;)

Hi,
I live in Mexico and I would like to know where can I get the No Compromise wristbands here, because I spent like 2 months and a half looking for them but nobody sells them and I really want mine.

My other option is to buy it at AndyRoddick.com but I don't exactly know if the shipment comes here & what about if I give my credit card number and the wirstbands never come?

If somebody can help me I'll be very grate.

Thanks!!

Cute No Compromise story:

I was riding the train home the other day and I was about to get off my stop when I noticed a boy, maybe 9 or 10 years old, crouching down in front of his seat admiring his huge collection of colorful wrist bands. He and two of his friends were going through the bands, talking about which band was which, maybe trading them with each other or something. But they seemed pretty excited by the collection. The boy had several of the yellow Livestrong bands, some red bands (I don't know who puts out a red wrist band?), and blue bands. As I passed by him I craned my neck to see if he had the real No Compromise bands and not one of the dozens of cheap knock-offs that can be found in any 7-Eleven store. I was surprised to see that he did indeed have the official No Compromise bands and I could hear him bragging to his friends as I left train, "I only collect the good color bands!"

i am getting really annoyed with the whole bands becoming fashion accessory thing though! i have a livestrong one and and no compromise one coz they're 2 of my fave sports stars and i think what they do is great. i also have a suport our troops one coz my uncle is in the TA. but people i know at work etc have like 20 of them just coz "they're cool" it just defeats the point to me! esp as most people are buying teh fake ones

Guilty :o Yeah I admit initially I wore them b/c my friends started to and they looked uber kuyos and i had to have one too. And my friend who I saw first wear one didn't even know Livestrong was created by Lance Armstrong. :o But to be fair, she did know it was for cancer. :)

My order has just arrived like 1 hour ago, I bought the 5pk. and they're very cool!

For all those worried about the credit card number, the shipping, etc. It's ok, everything very safe and formal. The bands took 8 days & let me tell ya that I am in México.
