Kristen 01-07-2005, 02:32 AM It is impressive to see another player who can pull off the 'sleeveless' look ;) Amer made a few stupid errors in the last match of his that I saw, and I am glad that Jurgen beat him :tape: but he seemed to be a really nice guy, good attitude and a great serve (when it goes in!) knight_ley 01-09-2005, 05:03 AM Hey guys!!! :wavey: I found 2 pictures of Amer tonight that I hadn't seen before :) ...thought I'd share them :inlove: Chloe le Bopper 01-09-2005, 08:07 AM You know, I suggested that he was pretty hot when he played Sargis last year in '03, and I remember being shot down over that idea. :p knight_ley 01-09-2005, 07:35 PM You know, I suggested that he was pretty hot when he played Sargis last year in '03, and I remember being shot down over that idea. :p you were not shot down by me cuz if i had seen you say this, i woulda been in agreement :) :wavey: knight_ley 01-13-2005, 03:32 AM Hey guys :wavey: Just thought I'd let y'all know that Amer won today in the first round of qualifying for the Australian Open... COME ON DEL!!! Kristen 03-10-2005, 03:49 AM Dammit! But... congrats, and keep it up Delish!! :yeah: jmgsdoubsprtnr 03-10-2005, 03:57 AM yep, i was rooting for Ryderstedt too, but it's ok that Delic won (i guess...) cause he's from ILLINOIS!!! :woohoo: Kristen 03-10-2005, 04:10 AM Cool! I have a friend from there... Naperville... well I guess I have 2 friends from Illinoi(s) now! lol... So, he plays Goldstein next. I have no idea whether this guy is decent or not, but hoefully the Delish serve will overpower him! :D jmgsdoubsprtnr 03-10-2005, 04:19 AM really? i know where naperville is!! but it's highly unlikely i know your friend. how'd you meet someone from naperville? small world, i guess  Kristen 03-10-2005, 04:44 AM I don't even know how I met her  It was through some global penfriend thing... Crazy! Anyway, her name is Amanda Doveatt :yeah: Yeah! Small world, definitely :) but still, too big. I am so isolated in Australia. LOL (Woohoo! We're onto page two! :D) Kristen 03-11-2005, 05:45 AM I was visiing that site with the healey / potential Torrey pictures... and saw this one of Amer: http://rlbartell.home.comcast.net/usopen/amer04a.jpg It seems he suffers from the same problem as Jarkko and Marco Mirnegg Uncoordinated undies!:o jmgsdoubsprtnr 03-11-2005, 06:02 AM Uncoordinated undies! :haha: :rolls: i think pim pim has that problem too! :o or was it Okun? i can't remember!!! Good luck to Amer!! GermanBoy 03-22-2005, 01:36 AM 7/6, 5/7, 5/7... :awww: Good fight! :yeah: knight_ley 03-23-2005, 03:01 AM  MisterQ 04-10-2005, 02:10 AM What has Delic been up to lately? anyone know? :) Fee 04-10-2005, 06:02 AM Lately? Don't know, but he's scheduled to play the Mexico City Challenger (#2) beginning on Monday. GermanBoy 04-10-2005, 09:34 PM Wanted to ask the same, thank you, Fee! :) jmgsdoubsprtnr 04-15-2005, 12:44 AM Just got done talking to Amer via AIM, he wasn't very pleasant, but i won't hold it against him. and no, i'm not going to share his screenname or the means my which i got it either, so please don't ask. Fee 04-15-2005, 01:31 AM Who would want to talk to him anyway if he's not a nice guy? jmgsdoubsprtnr 04-15-2005, 04:18 AM good point, good point. but i dunno, maybe someone would think they'd have more luck than me? Scotso 04-15-2005, 04:22 AM Amer is the sexiest guy on the tour. I love him, if only for that reason :hearts: Scotso 04-15-2005, 04:23 AM Amer is in the Mexico City quarterfinals, btw :) Fee 04-15-2005, 06:25 AM good point, good point. but i dunno, maybe someone would think they'd have more luck than me? They might, but if he wasn't the one who gave you his screenname, then I guess that might explain why he behaved that way. I don't think I've ever tried to chat with someone who didn't give me that info directly. Maybe he was just hungry and that was making him cranky. Could be anything... jmgsdoubsprtnr 04-15-2005, 02:24 PM They might, but if he wasn't the one who gave you his screenname, then I guess that might explain why he behaved that way. I don't think I've ever tried to chat with someone who didn't give me that info directly. Maybe he was just hungry and that was making him cranky. Could be anything... yeah, i was very hesitant on talking to him. but, without going into detail, i added him to something, and he added me back, which i then got his screenname. he shouldn't be adding random people if he doesn't want to talk to random people. i thought i'd IM him just to see if it was really him. it really was an innocent conversation, just me asking if it was really him. but i don't hold it against him if he was creeped out. he's not that famous, after all. jmgsdoubsprtnr 04-15-2005, 02:36 PM They might, but if he wasn't the one who gave you his screenname, then I guess that might explain why he behaved that way. I don't think I've ever tried to chat with someone who didn't give me that info directly. Maybe he was just hungry and that was making him cranky. Could be anything... i just realized that i didn't show you the conversation or anything, but you must be psychic b/c the reason he left was that he was going to go have dinner. :scared: Scotso 04-17-2005, 03:22 AM Amer not not famous? He's in the finals of the Mexico City challenger :) he'll play Jeff Morrison, and crush him  Fee 04-17-2005, 04:51 AM  i just realized that i didn't show you the conversation or anything, but you must be psychic b/c the reason he left was that he was going to go have dinner. :scared: Not really. The tennis players I know, 3 things make them cranky - losing a match, lack of sleep, lack of food. I've dealt with all 3 and sometimes I think lack of food is the worst. Congrats to Amer making the final! Scotso 04-19-2005, 02:33 AM He won ;) I think it was 6-4 3-6 6-3 over Morrison :D :bounce: Amer :bounce: jmgsdoubsprtnr 04-19-2005, 06:13 AM :woohoo: i talked to him again, congratulated him on his win and everything, and he was nice! he's not playing a tournament this week, he's visiting his parents cause he won't be able to see them til august. i'm becoming more and more of a fan of his! he's such a cool guy. I'll try to keep you posted on the goings on with Amer! GermanBoy 04-20-2005, 02:11 PM See, he just had a bad moment... :D GermanBoy 05-16-2005, 07:56 PM Does Amer know how to play on clay? Have seen his name in the qualy draw of RG, so I wondered whether clay is a good surface for him... savesthedizzle 06-11-2005, 04:53 AM Amer will be in the quallies for Wimbledon. Fee 06-18-2005, 07:55 PM Check and see if he's on the Forest Hills entry list in the Challenger thread. EmW05 06-27-2005, 02:50 AM Amer is such a sweetheart. One of the nicest pros out there. When I needed help with a decision on college tennis he was so helpful. He deserves to do so well. He has been through so much in his life and I hope that he has a successful season. jmgsdoubsprtnr 07-16-2005, 01:50 AM Amer plays Bjorn Phau in round 1 of indy. i hope i can make it to this match to cheer him on. GermanBoy 08-06-2005, 12:06 AM Alison, they are great! :D :yeah: :woohoo: Scotso 08-06-2005, 04:23 AM Thanks for the pics :D he is soooooo fine :D GermanBoy 08-23-2005, 07:09 PM Amer has to play quallies... :( He will face Alex Bogadnovic (GBR) - very British name... Scotso 08-24-2005, 12:23 AM Amer won his first match 6-4 7-6(7). Fee 10-17-2005, 05:02 AM oooo, Amer has his own thread. I had two chances to chat with him in Sacramento but I never got to see him play. I hope I get to see him play in Carson next week. superpinkone37 10-17-2005, 05:27 AM I so didn't know that Amer had a thread. Just wanted to let you know that my friend and I have made a website dedicated to Amer, so if you're interested feel free to check it out :) Amer Delic Online (http://www.akinonyx.com/eowyn/amer/index.html) Go Amer! :bounce: Scotso 10-20-2005, 04:21 PM thanks for the site ;) Fee 10-20-2005, 04:48 PM Your site is very good Jaxene, but you might want to open the photo gallery as a seperate window. Once I went to check out all those lovely pics, I never got back to your site. But it was an excellent way to start my morning, hubba hubba. :D :D Silawen 10-23-2005, 01:07 PM Your site is very good Jaxene, but you might want to open the photo gallery as a seperate window. But it was an excellent way to start my morning, hubba hubba. :D :D *grins* You will find that has been worked on and solved, thank you for the comment. (This is the other webmistress.) We are also working on a new menu, which you will already find on the first page. Thank you for visiting. partygirl 10-23-2005, 01:49 PM i love amer...the only time ive seen him play was 2004 uso against moya but i thought he was so good, they dont televise any of his matches and i dont get the chance to go to many tounaments...but im glad i know this thread exists...now :wavey:  Fee 10-23-2005, 05:17 PM *grins* You will find that has been worked on and solved, thank you for the comment. (This is the other webmistress.) We are also working on a new menu, which you will already find on the first page. Thank you for visiting. Does Amer know about your site? I am going to see him in Carson this week and I would be happy to give him the URL if you like. It's a good site and I bet he would be pleased to know its there. :D Silawen 10-23-2005, 05:48 PM Does Amer know about your site? I am going to see him in Carson this week and I would be happy to give him the URL if you like. It's a good site and I bet he would be pleased to know its there. :D Oh wow. I don't think he does, actually. I don't see how he could, unless he checks SteveG's site reguarly. We would really appreciate it if you could let him know, simply because he'd know he has full support from a lot of people. :) Thank you for the compliment, we plan to make some improvements to it still, but glad to hear you approve. ;) Enjoy your time at Carson and let all of us know how it went. (Not that you don't share your experiences with us, mind you, haha.) Fee 10-23-2005, 06:51 PM Okies, I'll give him the link. Some of the players do check out Steve G regularly, but I'm not sure if they venture much beyond the results and the calendar page. Fee 10-26-2005, 06:20 AM Had a conversation with Amer tonight: Me: Hey Amer, way to make that match interesting... Amer: Well, I try to do what I can for the tennis fans, make it worth their time. Me: So, you have a website... Amer: No , I don't. Haven't really thought about it... Me: No, I mean 2 of your fans have made a website for you Amer: What? No way! Are you serious? Me: Yes, I am and its really good, you should take a look at it one of these days. I think you'll be impressed. Amer: Who is it? Who did it? For me? Really? and so on. Anyway, I think he's going to check out the site sometime this week. I told him not to go getting a big head once he saw it. He just laughed. He's such a decent guy, he really is. Then I told him that I had nicknamed him Delic-ious and we both just kind of blushed a little bit. AWKWARD!!!! Joked a little bit after that about him swearing at himself in Croatian (Serbian?) when he was on court. It was a brief conversation, but it was nice. I look forward to seeing him play tomorrow. I'll try to get some pictures.... Silawen 10-26-2005, 08:42 AM Aah, thank you Fee. :) Glad to hear he's so happy with it, haha. Oh and Fee, you know we'll want those pictures of Amer, right? ;) Again, :worship: thank you! Scotso 10-26-2005, 01:57 PM I think he's Serbian ;) I wish I had the nerve to talk to players like you do :p Deboogle!. 10-26-2005, 02:37 PM I took a lot of great pics of Amer yesterday during his match :) I haven't had time to go through them and edit them but I'll post them here as soon as I do :) Scotso 10-26-2005, 03:56 PM is he naked in them  Deboogle!. 10-26-2005, 04:09 PM :haha: no, sorry  Silawen 10-26-2005, 04:09 PM  Can't say I'd mind seeing those pictures... Anyway, Deb we'd love to see any pictures you took! :) (And perhaps add them to the site? With credit, of course.) Deboogle!. 10-26-2005, 04:15 PM Oh yea sure you can use whatever you want :) I'll have time this afternoon to edit them so they're small enough to post, I think. I took a whole bunch so I'll take the clear ones (yay digital ;)) and post them all in this thread as soon as I can :) Fee's there again today and I think she's gonna take some pics and see his match, too. Silawen 10-26-2005, 04:20 PM Oh yea sure you can use whatever you want :) I'll have time this afternoon to edit them so they're small enough to post, I think. Amer seriously has to come to Europe one of these days so I can watch him play and/or meet him. But this is a good alternative, thanks Deb. Deboogle!. 10-26-2005, 04:38 PM aw sure :) My favorite part of his match yesterday was this one time when he approached and Mamiit passed him and he screamed out "WHAT WAS YOUR INTENTION WITH THAT SHOT!! You were supposed to go to his forehand..." etc..... it was so cute, he was just having this running commentary with himself and he was switching between languages and stuff. I really feel like Amer has all the shots to be like a top 50 player, but he's so inconsistent and makes so many UEs. He has a great all-court all-around good game, but he's just gotta get more consistent on the mental side I think. Silawen 10-26-2005, 04:41 PM aw sure :) My favorite part of his match yesterday was this one time when he approached and Mamiit passed him and he screamed out "WHAT WAS YOUR INTENTION WITH THAT SHOT!! He has a great all-court all-around good game, but he's just gotta get more consistent on the mental side I think. Heh, I know, I seem to have a thing for players like that. *cough*Nalbandian*cough* Good strokes and amazing when on fire, but mentally...ouch. Fee 10-31-2005, 06:19 AM Amer is lovely... I know I keep posting that in random places on this forum, but he really is. He just seems like such a decent man. Okay, that's based on a few brief conversations with him this week, but he behaves well on court, argues bad calls politely, and speaks a foreign language (Serbo-Croatian) when he really wants to get mad at himself! It was such a pleasure for me to watch him this week, I can't tell you why I like him in the technical sense, but he moves well for a big guy, I like serve-volley players in general, and he has a fabu backhand. When he puts it all together, it is just a joy to see. I really hope to see him movin' on up into the Top 100 in the next year or so. Silawen 10-31-2005, 08:18 AM Thank you Fee for sharing your adventures with us, it's nice to hear you had fun. Nice to hear those things about Amer too, he sounds like an excellent guy. Again, thank you. :) Scotso 10-31-2005, 05:03 PM The fact that he's damn sexy doesn't hurt, eh Fee? Silawen 10-31-2005, 05:21 PM The fact that he's damn sexy doesn't hurt, eh Fee? Haha, I didn't want to be that blunt, but how can you not notice? ;) Admit it, Fee! Fee 10-31-2005, 05:52 PM Well, his looks and his perfect legs do grab your attention, but he keeps it with his personality and his tennis. Hopefully, he'll get it into his head that he really is quite talented, and become more consistent. He's another one that I just want to adopt, then bring him home and feed him a big plate of pasta... cobalt60 10-31-2005, 06:37 PM Damn I am going to have to check this guy out this week. The march of the Delic-boppers continues! Next stop, world domination!!!!!!!!! Silawen 10-31-2005, 07:42 PM Fee, I'm loving the signature. Just wanted to say that. He *is* lovely. Oh, and why stop at world domination? I've heard the galaxy's nice this time of year. Fee 10-31-2005, 08:50 PM Oh, and why stop at world domination? I've heard the galaxy's nice this time of year. :haha: :haha: :haha: Well, the signature is going to change soon, once I redo my 'list' and put all of my guys in order. I hate to prioritze, but it must be done... Scotso 10-31-2005, 09:31 PM Oh, and why stop at world domination? I've heard the galaxy's nice this time of year. :haha: :yeah: Silawen 10-31-2005, 09:41 PM Lol, it wasn't that funny. *picks people up from the floor* Fee, you better have those prioraties straight, miss! Silawen 11-03-2005, 08:26 PM Obviously Fee is having trouble with the priority setting. Fee, there is no Amer mention. Do I have to have a word with you? :p Anyway, on-topic business. Amer lost in singles *and* doubles. :( Unfortunately. But thanks to Deb we have some amazing new pictures taken at Carson. Seeing as I don't know how to attack pictures I'll just post the link to them: (Hope it's ok to post the link, Deb. :) ) http://www.akinonyx.com/eowyn/amer/coppermine/cpg135/thumbnails.php?album=30 Fee 11-03-2005, 08:39 PM Still haven't worked on the list, been a wee bit busy. I did get my photos back, so once I sort through them all I'll send you the few good ones that I have. (I also have to plan a trip back down to Deb's so that I can sneak into her place and swipe her very cool camera... ) Silawen 11-03-2005, 08:42 PM 'Tis ok, I was only joking. :D Oh, and I know stealing is against the law and all, but I'm quite sure it's alright for this one time. Go for it, Fee. ;) I won't tell Deb. ps: Anxiously awaiting the amazing pictures! Fee 11-03-2005, 10:07 PM Woman, I need to catch you on AIM one of these days. The strangest thing happened at the very end of Amer's match on Sunday and I had forgotten about it until I got my photos back. I'll try to catch you tomorrow, I really need to go get some work done... :D Deboogle!. 11-03-2005, 10:48 PM Sure Silawen thats fine :) I've finally found the time to edit the pics from Friday and Sunday so be checking your email ;) Fee I cannot imagine what that story is! Silawen 11-04-2005, 08:22 AM Now you've made me curious. :p Well, contact me on AIM when you feel like it. I'd love to chat a bit. I just hope it won't be too late for me then. (Time difference and all.) Thank you for the pictures, Deb, they're amazing. :worship: Jaxene 11-04-2005, 06:43 PM I'd just like to throw in my 2 cents of thanks (fine my $1 mil of thanks!!) to both of you gals for all the pics and everything else! I've a feeling I need to get more involved in this thread, I feel bad :p It's nice to have a lil Amer circle happening though  cobalt60 11-11-2005, 10:32 PM Silawen- I finally had some time to check out the site on Amer that you are involved with. Very nice site and I am really sorry that I did not get to watch him play in the boston challenger. Silawen 11-12-2005, 01:18 PM Silawen- I finally had some time to check out the site on Amer that you are involved with. Very nice site and I am really sorry that I did not get to watch him play in the boston challenger. Aww, thank you. Don't be sorry on my account, by the by, perhaps you'll see him play one of these days. When you do I hope you enjoy yourself. :) Fee 11-15-2005, 04:34 PM Article for you Sila http://www.dailyillini.com/media/paper736/news/2005/11/15/Sports/Defending.Doubles.Champion.Advances-1057392.shtml Silawen 11-15-2005, 06:17 PM Article for you Sila http://www.dailyillini.com/media/paper736/news/2005/11/15/Sports/Defending.Doubles.Champion.Advances-1057392.shtml Thanks, Fee! :) I have news send to me everyday through google, but this one I hadn't received yet. Again, thank you. "It's always fun to play with Amer, seeing the strides he has made as a tennis player," Calkins said. Great quote, now that I can work with. ;) Silawen 11-16-2005, 09:12 PM Two very nice articles on Amer (and Kevin Anderson.) by the Illionois newspaper: Daily Illini and the College sports site CSTV. Delic, Anderson reach second round (http://www.dailyillini.com/news/2005/11/16/Sports/Delic.Anderson.Reach.Second.Round-1059332.shtml) "It was good to get the first win under my belt," Delic said. "It definitely wasn't easy - he's a tough player." Throughout the first set, Delic struggled a little, but was able to utilize his powerful serve to win both the set and the match. "I don't think without the serve I would be standing here talking to you right now," Delic said. "But it's still a 'W.' So I'll take it." Anderson Takes Easy Path to Second Round, Delic Pours Down Aces En Route To Straight Set Victory (http://www.cstv.com/sports/m-tennis/stories/111605aaa.html) "It definitely wasn't easy; Michael Russell is a great competitor," Delic said. "I was struggling in the first, but my serve kept me in it. My backhand started coming around in the second." The two traded holds in the first set, but Delic was able to break Russell twice in the second with his aggressive baseline play and solid volleys. Amer Delic: It definitely wasn't easy, Michael Russell is a great competitor. I was struggling in the first, but my serve kept me in it. My backhand started coming around in the second. I was more patient as well, and was able to be aggressive and come in and attack. "I do want to defend those [22 ATP Entry] points, but they won't make or break me. But it's always good to play here in front of a bunch of friends at a tournament like this." jmgsdoubsprtnr 12-06-2005, 05:55 PM i thought you'd enjoy a few more amer pics... Silawen 12-06-2005, 06:54 PM *grins* Thank you! ;) I always enjoy new pictures of the...American Delicasy. Fee 12-06-2005, 07:05 PM :secret: Amer is lovely superpinkone37 12-06-2005, 10:37 PM Amer :hearts: Thanks for the pictures :) jmgsdoubsprtnr 12-06-2005, 11:25 PM you're welcome! :) surfpinky 12-07-2005, 12:09 AM deb showed me a pic of amer a few days ago, and he looks lovely. Silawen 12-12-2005, 02:11 PM Ok, I'm not sure anyone cares, but ADO's main page has been given a Christmasy make-over. Let us know what you think. ;) Fee 12-12-2005, 05:25 PM It looks very pink on my computer, but I love the santa hat on Amer's head (he's lovely). You know he's playing in the Aus Open wildcard playoff later this week in Florida? Silawen 12-12-2005, 05:32 PM *nodnod* Yesh, found out about that this morning. I'm a little late on things, hi. Glad you like the hat, heh, I like it too. GermanBoy 12-19-2005, 01:24 PM Hope he can play the Australian Open... :D Silawen 12-19-2005, 01:25 PM Don't we all. Stupid Florida online newspapers and not telling us what happened. Stupid tennissites for not updating. I want to know, damnit! Silawen 12-19-2005, 02:05 PM We've had an email from a man who claims to be Amer Delic's uncle, who told us Amer had won the final and thus the wildcard. While we have no reason to believe the man's lying we of course can't guarentee it's the truth. If it's true...... OMGOMGOMG! Deboogle!. 12-19-2005, 02:07 PM ohhhhhhhh i hope it's true!!!!!!! Fee 12-19-2005, 06:24 PM I would bet that it's true. He played Bogomolov and it seems completely feasible that he could win that match. Yay for Amer! Silawen 12-19-2005, 07:34 PM Haha, I know Fee, but I don't want to get my hopes up. There has been a report on SteveG's forum that he won, though, so.... Partaaaaaaay! Fee 12-19-2005, 07:57 PM I think that report at Steve G was taken from your posts here at MTF, but who knows for sure. There was nothing about the WC playoff on Bogie's site at all, so I guess we'll have to wait until the USTA or Tennis Australia releases the info officially. See, this is why I should have just asked Amer for his email address in Carson, I had an unusual moment of shyness when the time came. Bummer. (email his uncle back and ask for the score, good to have contact with the relatives...) Silawen 12-19-2005, 08:18 PM Hmm, I thought the timezone at SteveG's forum was Australian? No Florida online newspapers seem to have any news so far, nor do any of the sport-sites and I can't count the Dokic-wildcard related articles I've seen on google's news. It seems we'll be forced to be patient even longer. I hate that, I have no patience. ^^ I really do hope the info we received was right, because now I'm all hyped up about this. Hehe. Fee, I checked Bogie's site too, shame there is no news whatsoever. The last news, I think, was from the 16th. Fee 12-19-2005, 08:32 PM I have no idea what the default time at Steve G is anymore, I thought it was Papua New Guinea at one point. I usually log in and use my timezone, its the only way I can make sense of things there. I hope he did win it, perhaps the USTA will show a little more faith in him next year, help him get a coach. Silawen 12-19-2005, 08:40 PM It's GMT+6 on the forum for me, so I'm not sure what exactly that is. I desperately hope he won, but I'm sure USTA support would be asking a lot. ;) I'm hoping for it, of course, but knowing the USTA... Fee 12-19-2005, 09:41 PM GMT + 6 appears to be Bangladesh! Maybe I'll email Steve and ask him to reset the default to GMT... Silawen 12-19-2005, 09:49 PM Hah, could you ask the person posting the news where he got it while you're at it? ;) GermanBoy 12-20-2005, 11:59 PM Silawen, brilliant Amer website! :worship: Silawen 12-21-2005, 09:51 AM Silawen, brilliant Amer website! :worship: *blushes* Thank you, we've worked hard on it. :) GermanBoy 12-21-2005, 02:21 PM *blushes* Thank you, we've worked hard on it. :) No need to blush! It is just fabulous! :worship: Silawen 12-21-2005, 07:24 PM Aww, thank you. :) And, good news, it's finally been comfirmed! The uncle knew what he was talking about. :D Delic Receives Oz Open Wild Card By Tennis Week 12/22/2005 Amer Delic was awarded a wild card entry into the 2006 Australian Open men's singles main draw after winning a six-player event at the Evert Tennis Academy in Boca Raton, Florida this weekend. The 23-year-old Delic of Jacksonville, Florida defeated Alex Bogomolov, Jr., 22, of Flintstone, Georgia, in the final of the wild card tournament, 6-3, 4-1 retired. The tournament was held in conjunction with a USTA training camp last week for 18 of the top young professionals in the country, including world No. 3 Andy Roddick and No. 16. Robby Ginepri. The USTA invited a group of six American players, age 24 or younger and ranked between Nos. 150-300 in the ATP Entry System, to compete for the wild card. The field was divided into two groups that played round robin matches. Delic and Bogomolov advanced to the final by winning their respective round robin groups. Other players who participated in the tournament were: John Paul Fruttero, Scoville Jenkins, Rajeev Ram, and Todd Widom. Currently ranked No. 164, Delic turned professional in the summer of 2003 after leading the University of Illinois to the NCAA team title and winning the NCAA men's singles title. He earned a career-high professional ranking of No. 142 on July 4, 2005. He reached the singles final at the USTA Pro Circuit $50,000 Challenger in Carson, California in October and reached the second round of the 2004 U.S. Open. Last summer, the USTA gave Australian Mark Philippoussis a main draw wild card into the 2005 U.S. Open as part of a reciprocal arrangement which sees Tennis Australia give the USTA a main draw wild card into Australian Open 2006 to award to a player selected by the USTA. Kristen 12-22-2005, 07:37 AM Good to see him get through here :) That's one less decent player I need to worry about during qualifying  Silawen 12-22-2005, 02:30 PM Oi, how long are you going? Just for the qualies? If not, snap that camera at Amer a bit, will you? ;) Deboogle!. 12-22-2005, 02:52 PM Heh, probably. With my luck he'll be put opposite one of my other faves. I'll likely do something embarrassing to take the pressure off :tape: ahh Mr Delish. I wonder if he still qualifies as "The better looking, less talented Federer" that we thought he was in January 2005  Time will tell :) If you guys want to pass on any well wishes/ messages of good luck type of stuff (how good is my English!!) feel free to do so. Just pm the stuff and I'll pass it on. But... how do I say Amer? "a-MARE?" Kristen 12-26-2005, 12:47 PM Thanks Deb! *~kat and I were watching him play Alex Bogomolov in Adelaide 2005, and we kind of decided he looked a bt like Roger, only hotter...and without the #1 next to his name. His mental "instability" of sorts is why he hasn't had more success than he has had to date, unfortunately. He also yells at himself a lot, it's cute. He'll play one incredible point followed by one really awful one. Pronounced, that is. ^^ His first name was 'explained' in an article, and the last name I'm guessing, basically since most similar names from that region are pronounced this way. Well, he's definately better looking. Ahh I sound like a hormonal pubescent girl *laughs* We're all like that, unless we happen to be a guy. *blinks* I'm a girl, though. *blinks* Ok, now I'm confusing myself. and, he wore the sleeveless shirt well Oooh yes, he does that well. ;) he can get fiesty  It's just the way he is right now, I hope he can get a coach that will help him with that and the focus and stuff Oh, we can only hope. Preferably before January 6th, because I'll be busy with the Sydney tournament and want to get most of the messages collected well before I go to Melbourne. (I'm collecting them for Jurgen as well. Silawen 01-19-2006, 04:39 AM Apologies and I am a female if that matters. New to this thread and did not read back at all. Adios. Lol, I use dude for everyone, male or female. In fact I use it a lot when I don't know a person's gender. ^^ And I was mostly just sharing the joke, I didn't mean anything by it. Silawen 01-19-2006, 04:43 AM Hah, I can't believe it either. And I have a blinding head ache too, but I promised Jaxene I'd be nervous with her, so...here I am. I get rather hyper in the morning, though, so I feel for her. And Amer if he doesn't win, I dislike losing sleep. ;) No pressure, babe. Deboogle!. 01-19-2006, 04:44 AM aww  it's very hot out there and Amer is just having a hard time putting a few good points together, esp on the return. He can't convert BPs :( They keep saying they're not sure what his fitness will be like since he played 5 sets in his 1st match too. I just wish Amer could find more consistency :awww: Fee 01-19-2006, 04:45 AM He's getting a bit mental... (but he looks lovely).
